Mental Wellness Support Group

I might try and take a closer look tomorrow if the job is still up on the site. Most of the time I've spent with horses, has just been petting them, I've never actually taken care of any, and I've literally touched a cow once in my life.
I hope it works well. I know it's only my personal experience but most animal handlers I've met, if you're honest with them about wanting to learn and what you don't know there is often times a willingness to teach. But, that's just my experience.

I hope it goes well for you.

it's neat comments I am getting because now YouTube is using my videos and putting their ads on them to get people to watch their ads .. like 5 seconds at the beginning -- but my videos should not have ads yet the ones that do there are many views and comments going on --- I guess I will put up with those ad for that reason only..

Thanks. I think the job is probably taken, I didn't check the job site, but I went to the school's official site's job openings page, and it's not on there.

Shouldn't your video get monetized for all the ads?

I think it should too.

I did call tech support and complain about that that I was not getting any money for the ads. They hung up on me.,, I would usually put the conversation in the comments about the ads

All that means is that they have a pending offer, more likely than not. However, it doesn't mean it is filled completely yet. In my experience, the listing is taken down once an offer is put out but that doesn't mean the job is filled completely, as background checks, references and such still take time.

Looks like going on disability isn't an option for me, I found some information on how much money I'd get, and it's nowhere near the amount that I would need.

Depending on the state you can still work while on disability. Usually you cannot earn above a certain amount, but having disability does not automatically mean you can't have a job. Just that you can only work so much.

I know, but the whole point of it was supposed to be so I didn't have to worry about getting a job.

Yeah, that's my plan now, it's just a matter of figuring out what it'll be. I might look through the remote job options on some of the job sites.
There's another thing I was wondering about, is it normal for people to call businesses and ask if they're hiring? There are a few places that would love to work at that would have a lot of animals, and a minimum of people, but I have no idea if they have any openings.

My old adage is "you don't know if you don't ask." So, I don't care if it is normal or not I would call and ask if there is a job I'm interested in. Not everyone puts things online, and not everyone updates them as frequently as positions come available.

I'll think about that then, I have a couple other places I might check first before I go that route.

It’s proactive making cold calls asking if people are hiring and it can impress prospective employers but timing is important and keeping track of who you’ve contacted and what they said. If they say to call back in a few months make a note of it and follow it up. The perseverance itself could make them give you an interview and the proverbial ‘foot in the door’. Just before Christmas is probably not the best timing so wait until mid January and have a CV ready. There might be government schemes that pay you so that’s an incentive for an employer to take you on at no cost and eventually they offer you a job so that’s worth looking in to. Volunteer work is a way of gaining experience and can lead to offer of employment.

if you feel you have a disability it’s still important to follow up with it even
though the money you get isn’t going to cover everything. Whatever you get is going to be helpful and it will also open doors to other support. I applied for disability support in March and because of the backlog it was processed in October.

I agree with Captain Kris Kringle Pike and Yuletide Prayer. The places you'd like to work may not have considered that they could benefit from hiring an extra person or may be planning to in next year's budget and talking to them before they've put out a job ad is a good idea. Good luck.

I'm not sure but.... I think my biggest enemy, tinnitus, may have gotten worse.
It's hard to tell but it seems to have bothered me more recently. Well, maybe it shall pass....

I realize the holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year for many, but it can be very stressful too. Some of us may feel drained physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. The demands and expectations can easily pile up, and this is likely why I've been feeling irritated lately with family, friends, and colleagues.

On the bright side, there are ways we can manage stress and practice self-care, not just during the holidays but throughout the year. Make sure you have quality time for yourself, learn to say no without guilt, and try not to give too many f*cks.
