It's sometimes kind of random which characters created for screen adaptations get picked up by the comics and which ones don't. For instance, I've long been surprised that Marvel didn't add Jack McGee to the Hulk comics after the '70s-'80s TV series -- although I recently discovered that within the past few years, the comics introduced a black female reporter named Jackie McGee.

The Superman comics adopted Jimmy Olsen and Perry White from the radio series, but there were numerous other radio characters they didn't pick up, like Inspector Henderson (who didn't make it to the comics until the '70s), private detective Candy Meyers, and major villains like the Atom Man and the Laugher (who was basically Lex Luthor, the Joker, and the Kingpin rolled into one).
Sure, I guess it depends on the popularity of the character. Harley Quinn and Phil Coulson were super popular so it's no surprise they made the transition pretty quickly. Granted Darcy is a divisive character to the extremes but she always had her passionate fans (myself included), even before Wandavision, so it's a little surprising that it took this long for her to show up.

I didn't know Darcy was divisive.

One TV character who was added briefly to the comics but kind of fizzled out was Chloe Sullivan from Smallville. I was surprised they waited so long to add her to the comics (until after the show ended, I think) and then barely used her.

So among the recent layoffs hitting Disney, one of the layoffs that have hit is to the Marvel Animation studio. And that as such, all of the announced Marvel Animated shows thus far (What If...? s2-3, X-Men '97, Marvel Zombies, and Spider-Man: Freshman Year) are in danger of getting delayed or even cancelled.

Spider-man: Freshman Year is allegedly already cancelled after the first season

Damn, I'm shocked they didn't already do that. Coulson debuted pretty quickly (I think even before Agents of SHIELD debuted).

Why? I mean i enjoy Darcy as a comedic relief character and Kat Dennings in general ( not because of her noticeable chestal area ;), because i really like snarky characters ) but i don't need every character be introduced into the comics.

Coulson is somehow different - he was one of the best parts of Phase One and i really loved Agents of Shield for many seasons, so if i read comics i wouldn't have minded seeing him there, even in a solo series.

Damn, that really sucks on all counts. :(

That's all fair and good (and I, too, love snarky characters) but you'd think a medium such as comics would be open to bringing in new, fresh ideas and characters, especially when the comics are often repetitive and stagnant.

I'm a little bummed the Guardians Holiday Special won't be available until the day after Thanksgiving. It seems like it would be a fun watch after a day of watching the Lions lose play.

Chris Hemsworth found out he's genetically predisposed to be 8 to 10 times more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease (his grandfather has it) -- it's not a diagnosis, more like a warning -- so he's gonna take a break from acting to spend more time with family.

Ironically, I once read a description of Hemsworth in a fitness magazine as “having won the genetic lottery” in terms of his body, low fat v muscle mass etc. I immediately thought of that description when I read this story earlier. Things are never just that simple.

It continues to look it's going to be a lot of fun to watch. :D

Damn, that's a hell of a thing to learn. I don't blame him for wanting to take a break for awhile.

From the "What the hell took them so long?!?" Department: Kat Dennings - er, Darcy Lewis - is getting her comic book debut in the classic Marvel Universe this January.
I had just assumed she'd already popped up somewhere.

That's a shame.

So is that the big shocking news he got while filming his new Nat Geo show?

I'm going through it right now with my mother and it's no joke.

Do we know yet on if/when to expect Eternals 2? I just watched the first one for the first time since I saw it in the theater, and I had forgotten how much of a cliffhanger it ended on.
I really enjoyed it, and I just don't get why it was so disliked. I thought it was a cool story, with great characters, and some fun actions scenes.

I agree it was pretty good, and I don't understand the negative buzz. I do hope they go ahead with the sequel. More Gemma Chan is always a good thing.

Disney trademarked a movie title called "Celestials: End of Time" at the same time as they did all the ones that were announced over the summer but haven't said anything officially. Patton Oswalt on the other hand accidentally talked about it on live TV months ago. (And I bet he got a fun call from Kevin shortly after.)

OK cool. I wonder if the fact that it's Celestials instead of Eternals might mean it will be a crossover with more than just the Eternals?

There's two films they haven't announced details on yet due before "Avengers: Secret Wars". So "End of Time" could certainly mean Kang will be involved. Pure speculation but I think they'll make it something that resolves the cliffhanger but mostly stands on its own.
