IIRC, the reason why they had those designs was because they were really easy to animate without ever going off model and do the fight scenes with. There's barely any repeated animation as a result either.

 

Spectacular Spider-Man is a genuine contender for my favourite Spidey adaptation (shh, don't tell the '94 series).

Disney were very short sighted, nay, foolish, IMO, for not continuing with it.

But not as foolish as Sony are if the reports of them not getting Christopher Daniel Barnes and Josh Keaton in for support roles/cameos in Across the Spider-verse are true.

I can kind of see where he's coming from, but I think any movie in any even moderately popular franchise would have done that, it wasn't anything specific to Venom.

Yeah, Sony is the only one brave enough to have released some big movies in the last few years. You guys are the real heroes.

I'm getting X-Men: Dark Phoenix flashbacks, although I'm sure she'll be at least slightly better at the job then Kinsberg was with Dark Phoenix, since I managed to watch Venom 1 & 2 and I've still never been able to get all the way through Dark Phoenix.
