Why wait so long for the rest of Season 1?

IIRC, it's mostly an issue of legalities since the contracts for season 1 incorporates all twenty episodes. But still, yeah, given the first ten episodes essentially told their own story with the next ten moving onto another one, the time gap between these batches of ten and the fact that first half of the season will be released on physical media before the second half starts airing, they might as well be separate seasons.

But no one woke me up in the middle of the night to ask my opinion on how a TV show should be branded.

It's not an issue of "legality," it's to take advantage of he cast and crew by pretending they aren't separate seasons for contractual purposes. It's a standard TV production trick.

"Contractual purposes" is another way of saying "legality." You literally just built an argument around saying "Poh-tay-toh" rather than "Poh-tah-toh."

Probably the dumb legalities of production registrations or whatever.

Yeah, this is Season 2 but it was filmed as Season 1. Possibly because the producers knew you need to film quickly with child actors.

There's only one child actor in the show's cast.

It's Season 1, they're marketing it as season 1, it was part of the season 1 production cycle.

    It's Season 1.

yeah, child actors can surely spend a lot more time in a recording studio in one go, vs. an actual film set.

And Rylee Alazraqui, for example, is 11 years old already. Hardly a toddler.

Depends on the labor laws and rules. Work is work, regardless of audio recording or on set.

This is assuming they even need to use a studio anymore. For all we know, Rylee can do all of her lines from her own home. With current technology, you couldn't even tell the difference.

For example: As you can no doubt tell from my avatar ;) , I'm a Yankees fan. One of the YES Network's color commentators (Paul O'Neill) is not vaccinated, so he's not allowed to be in the broadcast booth with the rest of the announcers. He has to do all of his bits from his own home studio. And you absolutely cannot tell the difference just from listening.

It still falls under child labor laws.

You couldn't tell the difference over twenty years ago. I was acquainted with a professional voice-over artist who did work for movie trailers from a home studio. He was working on DAT at the time, I think.
