I can’t think of a better therapy for COVID brain, and I confidently say that from personal experience. When I contracted this fucking nightmare back in January 2021, it took me a good six months or so to really get past it, and one of the things that I truly believe helped me get over the hump was working on modeling. And not just re-learning — I picked up several new techniques, and did some of the best work I’ve ever done (my
Galileo shuttlecraft, which I think has some of the most realistic texturing that I’ve ever achieved, not to mention the fact that it’s the first model I’ve ever done with 100% sub-D modeling).
I think that’s what you’re doing right now Eric. Your modeling is flawless as always, but you really seem to have stepped up your game on texturing this time, and it shows. That by itself is gratifying, but the fact that you are forcing your brain to “exercise“ must feel quite satisfying (I know it made me feel better to realize that not only could I relearn the things I had forgotten, I was teaching myself all kinds of new techniques). And of course, we all get to share in the enjoyment of watching your “art therapy”!
