Rogue One only deals with the Force tangentially through a character like Chirrut Imwe or in the scene where Darth Vader briefly Force chokes Director Krennic. Everything else is guerilla combat, espionage and space battles.

Every time I watch Rogue One and watch Chirrut in action, I weep for the Jedi he should have been.

Well, if anyone saw the Rogue One re-released, they included a ten minute preview of "Andor" before the movie.
A few minutes of talking heads with Gilroy and Luna. And then an extended look at the scene already glimpsed between Andor and Stellan Skarsgard.
God damn, it's impossible to overstate how much better written this show already is with one little scene than the entirety of Favreau and Filoni's live action efforts have been to date.
This show really looks like the real deal, not just reference-strewn fan fic.

Cassian's blaster reminds me of the Bryar Pistol. Not identical but similar. The ribbed area on top is what caught my eye.

Yeah, the similarity occurred to me too (and is probably deliberate, given the context.) That said I've never been a fan of the Dice rendition of the Bryar. There's loads of re-interpretations of it kicking around, but I've yet to see a version that really captures the look and feel of the original design.This is up on Disney+ now.

Bryar pistol is excellent. They did a good job with a prop in Jedi Knight.
Honestly, not really.
I did a fair amount of research on this and if you get a clear look at the prop you can tell it's almost comically oversized, and the proportions are weirdly off and skewed compared to the original in-game asset. It's like they just eyeballed it from a single non-orthographic render (at best) and didn't check to correct for the perspective shift. The "cylinder" is what really gives it away; it's tapered to the point that it's almost a cone where as you can see above, it's meant to be an actual cylinder. Even stranger is that JK's own in-game asset doesn't match either the original or the prop (even though photographic textures of the prop are in the game files) so who knows what was going on there.
On the plus side, they at least shifted the power pack over to the opposite side so it's actually physically possible to holster for a right handed draw, and while the cross-draw holster was a fun idea, again the gun seems a little too big for it to be practical. Especially considering Kyle is supposed to be able to actually sit down to pilot his ship without that thing jamming into his abdomen.
Not that I think whoever made it was lazy or negligent by any means. It's pretty clear the FMV budget was shoestring to say the least (some of the costumes were clearly borrowed from the archives*), and the broadness of the acting and the low resolution of the medium meant that playing it a bit over-exaggerated and theatrical instead of cinematic was both appropriate and necessary.
* Bit of an aside, but some of Luke's costuming from Jedi was purportedly used but not put back properly, and spent years kicking around the ILM model shop in a rubbish bag, until Adam Savage of all people finally looked inside and realised what it was.

Yep. I'm guessing these are flashback scenes to Cassian's childhood when the Empire was brand new and still relying on Phase 2 Clone Troopers for most of its infantry.
Eh...for a lower poly render to real life it did it's job. Still my favorite weapon.
Yes, Andor said in R1 that he'd been in the fight since he was six years old, which takes him right back to around the end of the Clone Wars. I suspect you'll see some more of the transition from Republic to Empire in this production.
When adapting firearms into energy weapon props I wish they'd lose the hammer. A blaster doesn't need a hammer or a firing pin.This is up on Disney+ now.

Season 1 of The Bad Batch shows how the new Empire still relied on the war era Clone Troopers for its armed strength in outlying star systems and to help enforce the new Emperor's will. The introduction of the TK Troopers(an evolutionary midpoint between Phase 2 Clone Troopers and Imperial Stormtroopers) happens not that long after Order 66.
Says who? It's a space fantasy series, it can work however it wants.
Maybe the hammer hits a mechanism that fires the energy blast.
