Probably due to that alien being pulled out of his body.
Fairly standard episode - and I mean that in a good way - it was pretty much what I've come to expect from a LD episode with no surprises. I was going back and forth between a 7 and an 8 and went with a 7. Nothing really stood out, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It was just a simple enjoyable episode. I thought it was better than last week's but not as good as the premiere.
Boimler has always been concerned about being seen and becoming captain in the future so his fantasy made sense to me.

I don't think it necessarily means Boimler is being written as ace, just that there are things he wants more than sex (like promotion, recognition, and getting tf away from the family vineyard).
I enjoyed the episode. Not really a world-shaker, but a couple of nice bits of character info/advancement and some neat visuals. Not much there so far as rewatch value, but a fun half-hour.
I haven’t found the eps so far this season particularly funny, which has been fine, because the stories have worked pretty well as character-driven Star Trek. This one suffered, though, from a weak resolution. “They did it ‘cause handwavey handwavey can’t-be-bothered” might suffice for quick wrapup to a whacky romp, but it’s not very satisfying tacked onto a bog-standard Trek plot built around dreams and nightmares that weren’t particularly compelling.
Some of the character insights were fine, particularly about Mariner, but there wasn’t enough here to warrant a whole episode, IMO. And the final gag about Boimler being a tiny robot set my teeth on edge — straight sitcom shtick, and makes no sense in-universe. I also wasn’t keen on the bickering between the captains. That got tiresome quickly.
I didn’t hate this but it’s one of the weakest LD eps for me.

I just figured the rumors got him confused with Peanut Hamper.

That’s a positive way of looking at it. But if Pike can pull up all that info on rando kids, surely Starfleet gossips can find their way to Boimler’s basic personnel info.
Indeed. It's frustrating to me that sex is considered something that drives all people and should someone deny that they must be asexual.
Though, I blame Freud. Can't blame anyone here for sure

This one was a blast, and seeing more Tendi was just the chainsaw on the top.
Another splendid episode, the funniest part being that the whole mind reading rocks plot is something that would totally show up on “serious” Trek.
The Borg serpent was very funny and also great continuity seeing Quetzalcoatl. I’m dubious on shy they decided to face the nightmares instead of deactivating the control center, though. Wasn’t under the impression that petrified people couldn’t be revived, guess I was wrong.
This is also I believe the first time that we discover that 24th century medical technology can regrow limbs (but not hearts perhaps?).
Cool seeing a California class turned “all sovereigny”, as Freeman put it last week.
The B plot was less interesting for me but it’s good for character development.

See, and I had Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico in m head. Was thinking, "Are there New Mexico class ships now." But nevermind.

Loved it. Best of this season. Cali-class famous. Beautiful.
I'd never have guessed it, but the whole Cerritos crew is one of my favourite line-ups of all time. I like every single character in the show.

I think I read somewhere that all Cali-class ships are named for places in California?

I loved the teaser that was presented as a classic "introduce the threat" setup... and then in the opening of act one, jumping straight too "Well, that story got resolved in the usual way -- now time for the clean-up"
I've been craving a story for Migleemo, and I was a little let down this didn't do much with him. Is he really just clueless? I did, however, like the two green characters interacting with each other.
Otherwise, great in all the usual ways. That Borg snake might end up in my nightmares!
Fun that every episode this year has had a legacy character... Cochrane, Martok, Brahms. Keep that streak going all season!
