Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Maybe they set up.a shop that sells printable files? Thatd be nice.
But that does nothing for the pre painted crowd.

My thought on XL is that, theyve been at it for years and all the popular stuff were already made in the smaller size, so decided to go bigger on the popular ones to get more money.

Maybe next time they do the major ships and do a poll on whatever background ships people want. Maybe even a preorder where say they get 500 orders they produce it.
But that's for the next guys.. Whomever they may be.

And my (main) collection is complete.
Just got the Promellian Bottle Cruiser (;)) for 33 with free shipping, and they also had a shuttle for 21, so I added that :D

The Gameprint ones are 3D printed in full color for about the same price as the Eaglemoss ships: https://integralrealitylabs.com/gameprint/startrek

I had an Odyssey class USS Excalibur printed at the 5-inch scale, the details are a little muddy, but for the most part it's pretty nice. The 4- and 5-inch are essentially the same size as the original Eaglemoss starship line, so it fits in well.

Speaking of cancelled lines and Gameprint, I thought those half-model plaques they were making for five minutes looked super-classy. Someday I'll probably ape the format, myself, since they aren't making them anymore.

That has been the age-old question of the Oberths since their first arrival in the form of the Grissom (I, too, wonder why they didn't name the model that, but water under the bridge). There's a section on this topic at Ex Astris. To quote:More details and photographic evidence on the subject can be found there.

I'm thinking it's just a massive sensor pod. It is a science vessel; makes sense they would have a dedicated array of sensors for deep scans of planets, stars, nebulae and other celestial phenomena.
Actually its easily possible for turbo lifts to access the pod below. We are so used to thinking up and down. But with artificial gravity the lifts would just need to rotate so people are traveling instead of in vertical tubes (in regards to the top of the ship), but horizontally. That allows enough space for travel and the bend of the struts wouldn't block it at all. And again with artificially gravity platting its very simple. Certainly large enough for lifts that can hold a couple of people.

I am eagerly awaiting any reports of the XL stargazer getting out to the public and seeing how much that's going to cost for me to get......

As for the production lines, we have to understand its not just trek they had many different properties and we have no idea how any of them actually did. But realistically for any company to expect consumer demand for materials from new productions to match the level from sources that had decades to build consumer interest is fairly unreasonable. Especially for larger higher priced point ships. And while of course with the higher price point (if you keep cost down) you don't have to sell as many. But you are also hitting collectors on another front. And that's real-estate. I had to stop purchasing the larger models not from a monetary side but from a having available space to display or store them. I could have easily picked dup a 100 more smaller sized ones, then 25 larger or XL sized ships.
I can't imagine that I was the only one hitting a space limit.

My Star Trek Universe subscription is taking forever. I was just about to get the 32nd century ships.

Space. The final frontier. These are the purchases of the starship collection enterprise. Your ongoing mission: to seek out new shelves and new display stations. To boldly show one ship more than what was shown before!

Hey, so I got Book's ship, is it supposed to have a cockpit window or did I get hosed once again by Eaglemoss, lol?

Never got that one. My Universe subscription was so slow at the end I only got up to the Discovery refit

There are very few Eaglemoss models with “interior” bits. The DSC Worker Bee and Landing Pods were two. Can’t think of any others. I suspect it was simply too expensive to do interiors. I know the Runabouts never had them in either standard or XL sizes.
