Two popular Trek shows that are generally well received. One is a comedy that will dabble in drama. The other is a drama that dabbles in comedy. Sounds like a smart move from a business and creative standpoint. No drugs needed.

I hope Mariner has a scene with Ortegas. She'll be jealous of the level of snark Ortegas gets away with.

Also I hope we'll see a "live action" Cerritos.

I'm excited for this. Its the best Modern Trek (LD) crossing over with the second best (SNW). I mean, I don't like SNW getting so many goofy episodes (the stupid freaky friday and fantasy episodes were bad enough), but LD is good comedy, so hopefully the writing of the crossover is more to LD's level and not at the level of SNW's attempts at less serious stories.

It's confirmed to be at least Mariner's and Boimler's actors in live action.

Mariner: Oh. My God. You are so awesome.
    Ortegas (shrugs): I know.

If they weren't cowards, it would be the other way around.

How is it cowardly in any way?

"Cowards"? WTF does that even mean?

Doing the Enterprise in live action and the Cerritos in animation is the most efficient way of doing things, as the Enterprise already has sets built and standing and the Cerritos interiors are already rendered in animation. Doing it the "non-cowardly" way as you apparently think it should would mean spending time and money building sets for the Cerritos and rendering the Enterprise interior for animation. Since a crossover episode like this is already going to be a complex task given all the moving parts involved, it makes the most sense to do things the most efficient way possible. Or like the old saying goes, work smarter, nor harder.

Hm. I wonder if they'll address the physical discrepancy between Mariner and Boimler and Newsome and Quaid. The two characters are roughly the same height, while the two actors are significantly different from each other. Newsome is also a lot paler than Mariner from what I've seen. I expect a handwave of some sort.

I do hope Brad's purple hair looks more natural on SNW in live action than it did in that panel or whatever it was.

Sometimes people say things in an intentionally incorrect way as a source of humor.

Shouldn't be too hard, considering he was wearing a hair shaped helmet at that convention.

Should we begin debating where this episode takes place in LD's chronology? ;)

Unlikely that they'll do it, but I'd love to see Dr. T'Ana in live action.

Just when I was really enjoying SNW.

Terrible idea. And that's being charitable.

I want to clarify, I'm not saying skip the episode as a means to deflect criticism, it's just, why complain about something so much about something you can skip? The series is episodic so I doubt you'll be missing anything important, and if you do it will be covered in the 'previously on' segment.

Spock's Brain, Code of Honor, Threshold, they didn't kill Star Trek, this won't.

I have all of season 2 of this series to catch up on. I don’t do comedy… usually. I feel a binge watch coming up. :bolian:
