When the guy who hates on 95% of the stuff you like finally likes something you have an affection for it's not exactly a ringing endorsement.

I can even recognize the flaws in the Trek I like that he doesn’t. But I can also recognize flaws in what he likely considers the golden age of Trek. And frankly, I think it just comes down to a matter of taste.

But the difference is: if I don’t end up liking Picard season 3, I’m not going to shout from the rooftops how it’s the worst thing ever and that it’s ruined the franchise. I may be critical but I’ll keep that criticism in check. Kinda how I roll.

I’m not sure if that was ever really a plan but it was certainly strongly hinted at the start of TNG to be the case.

Yeah, perhaps. This plot twist would be *proper* soap opera level writing. I think that it would be *cool* and *could* work though.

The Picard having a unknown son story line isn't true cause meh they already sort of did that in season 7 on TNG (although turned out it wasn't his actual son). However, given that Picard being the last Picard has been such a major arc for him since generations so I guess it would kind of logical but who would the mother be? Just another "past love," Beverly? The love interest form Insurrection?
