The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

My question when it comes to that scratch-built Eagle One... is it in scale with any action figures? It doesn't look like it opens up with interior set miniatures, though. Why did he decide to built it at that size? Was that the size of the filming model for the show?

Ah, that's taking me way back. I had Flash and Ming, and Ming's two-man shuttle that I simply repurposed as Flash's.

I thought I might have had a lizard woman figure too, but I'm not sure since all my Flash Gordon stuff has been long gone for ages. When I was a kid, I used to hang around a toy store called Children's Palace once a week during the summer time when school was out. Action figures, playsets, and vehicles as far as the eye could see in multiple aisles. Now those were the days...
There might be something up with the image link there. I just see a gray place-holder type thing.

McFarlane Toys' 5" DC Super Powers Tribute Line Wave 1 And Beyond Details

Apparently, they're showing up at Walmart now, with the figures around $10 and vehicles at $20. Of course, I don't have access to Walmart here in Germany, and current Ebay prices are beyond the pale. Like the vehicles for $80+ , not including shipping to Germany. Even the figures are $35+ without shipping. Kind of breaks my heart, because I really love these, especially that Batwing, but I just can't afford these prices. Now I gotta hope that Ebay prices will go down, or that they'll show up in Germany for prices closer to the US retail prices.

OK I saw a Black Widow Barbie..... Barbie done up as Marvel's Black Widow. She doesn't at all look like she could kick your ass.

A new wave of Black Series is technically out there if you can manage to find it. But it's definitely available online if you don't mind paying a little extra.

It's frustrating how different online retailers will have different expected shipping dates for the exact same figure on pre-order. The Vintage Collection "deluxe" Boba Fett (Tatooine) is already shipping from Amazon, so I canceled my pre-order on another big-name site and placed an order with them instead. And recently I canceled a pre-order for the Fennec Shand TVC figure because I actually found it in a store, while the pre-order still had expected shipping about a month away.

IKR same for things like Lego. Finally after many weeks Lego Optimus Prime is back and they are taking back orders. Mine is due to ship August 10

On the new McFarlane Super Powers figures, in hindsight I'm kind of glad I wasn't able to buy them, what with the whole cape fiasco. For those who haven't heard (or were unfortunate enough to discover it after buying them), the capes are not only made of a really cheap and stiff cloth, they also for some reason put a tag through the cape leaving behind a very visible hole. The custom cape makers are doing quite the business over this, apparently.

Still would love to get that Batwing, though. Would work brilliantly with my vintage figure from the '89 movie in the Super Powers colors.

McFarlane's Batman '66 figures are superior but even those have issues with the quality of the plastic and the lack of accessories.

I've got the new Vintage Collection "Obi-Wan Kenobi" Vader and Kenobi figures arriving today. I am quite enthused about this Vader, as it's supposed to be the definitive figure of the character in this scale.

I haven't seen these two figures in person in any stores, but I was able to order from Target as they have them in warehouse stock, and delivery only took a couple days from when I ordered. All the listings on ebay for these ones are overpriced, which would make more sense if they weren't actually available from a regular retailer at normal price. But, whatever. Maybe they're counting on certain buyers to only check ebay.

In a Hasbro packaging reveal from San Diego Comic-Con we're getting Cal Kestis, the TV series Cassian Andor and a female character(a hero?) from the new Andor series in an upcoming wave of the Vintage Collection. Cal comes with his BD-series droid.
