Spoilers Ms Marvel on Disney+

A good show, not the best Marvel currently has ( for me that's a toss up between Moon Knight, Falcon & Winter Soldier and Hawkeye) but it was fun, Vellani was adorable as Kamala and loved how they showed and depicted her culture and background ( with a bit of racial stereotype humor that was ok for me).

Now i'm curious what the Easter Egg means and how this will continue.

I love how Marvel is slowly paving the way for Mutants and X-Men, can't wait for that to fully appear onscreen - could be as big as Avengers if they do it right. I'm slowly starting to think Marvel is slipping a bit, most of the Phase 4 movies were ok and that's not enough for Marvel. About the only ones i really enjoyed were Shang Chi and No Way Home, the rest is just there so i hope they really do have a plan and the breadcrumbs start paying off soon.

Well that was a nice improvement. The last two episodes made me worry that they weren't going to stick the landing. I still contend that almost all of that stuff could have been held back for a second season and let this season breath a little with Kamala in her home environment. It also showed how sorely the extended cast were missed that the show came alive again once they were back, and yet it still feels like we hardly got to spend enough time with them!

I figured there'd have tp be a Carol or Monica cameo at the end, though since I couldn't think of a non-clunky way to have Danvers show up within the plot, while having Monica pull a Nick Fury seemed the more likely choice. Of course I didn't anticipate Kamala literally just tripping into the plot of 'The Marvels'.

That's a fair interpretation, but all I think it means is that Kamala is not an Inhuman in this reality.
In my vague, fuzzy, and perpetually noncommittal head canon; "Mutant" and "Inhumans" are just adjacent branches of the same tree. Like, imagine for a second that the x-gene is a mutant strain of Inhuman DNA that spontaneously triggers terragenesis as part of the onset of puberty (or in the event of extreme stress), perhaps by having the body produce it's own terragen (and because it's released into the system slowly over a period of time, you don't get the bio-morphic chrysalis, and indeed, a Mutant would likely be immune to any external source of terragen.) Cases like Peter Parker or even Bruce Banner, Matt Murdock & Kreel are examples of latent mutants that have the gene, but it's inactive, and was instead triggered by artificial means.

Also for what it's worth I'm pretty sure Kamala was originally intended to be a Mutant, but got shunted over to the Inhumans because: "yay arbitrary intra-corporate politics!"

Side note: are we counting this as the second or third explicit X-Men nod in the MCU? Are we counting Wanda having magical powers pre-Mind Stone as implication she and Pietro were mutants too, or not? I could go either way with it honestly.

After how the last episode went, I wasn't sure how things would go in this final episode, but overall I'm happy how things played out.

I love a good Home Aloning and this episode had this in spades! Was it ridiculous? Sure, but I don't care. The Damage Control goons deserved it.

But my favorite part of the whole episode is how quickly and quietly Kamala's family and friends accepted her powers, with Muneeba going 180 and fully trusting and accepting Kamala's dreams. I also loved how the community quickly rallied around her thanks to Zoe's timely viral video, both at the school and afterwards all over social media.

Thankfully Kamran didn't go full villain but instead was understandably distraught by his mother's death and furious at Damage Control's aggressiveness (but really, it was just Agent Deever seriously overstepping her bounds). Despite his initial misgivings, I was happy to see he accepted help from Kareem even though he was a Red Dagger. That indicates to me he'll have a more positive story in the future.

I was relieved that the discord between Kamala and Nakia didn't last long upon their reunion, lasting only long enough for Kamala to understand why Nakia was upset and sincerely apologize for her lack of trust. Their friendship is one of my favorite parts of the show so I'm grateful this didn't become a longer issue.

The Kamala/Kamran/Bruno not love triangle continued to percolate but didn't really go anywhere just yet, despite Kamala and Kamran almost kissing and Bruno seeing it. Undoubtedly the letter Bruno dropped into her locker is some expression of his feelings of the situation but I hope it's not as simple as a unrequited love letter. I like the Kamala/Bruno buddy friendship far better than any kind of potential romantic relationship, much like Shang-Chi and Katy.

I imagine the Inhuman fans won't be happy with the revelation of Bruno's genetic studies but I loved Kamala's "great, another label" response. Because that's exactly what that's ultimately about and how Inhumans and Mutants are generally utilized narratively.

And for the record, I was technically right about Carol! I said we wouldn't see Kamala meet her until The Marvels...but I certainly didn't expect that twist! I'm very curious to see how that issue is resolved. More Kree connections no doubt!

Lastly, I could hear in the back of my mind, Edna Mode yelling "NO SCARFS!"

How wild is it that in a show about a girl with cosmic embiggening powers, the thing I found the least true to real life was the cops standing up with the people to protect a Muslim girl from the Feds.

Yup, I felt the same way. That whole moment with Kamala's family, friends, and community surrounding her was beautiful but that one part felt very disingenuous.

Yeah, that moment stood out.
But I kind of like it, as it provides a nice vision of what the world could be like.
It‘s nice to imagine that‘s how a world full of super heroes inspires people and even brings out the best in cops for a change.

Very fun finale, gave me the same feelings the excellent first two episodes did. The Kamran stuff was done much better than I feared it would be, with him just getting angry and losing control for a bit rather than going full evil. Loved everyone supporting Kamala and being nice to her and the last scene with her dad: it made me feel a bit warm and fuzzy.

So overall I liked the show, but the pacing was off in episodes 3 to 5. I think all the Disney+ shows have had pacing problems to some degree, because they're not full tv shows, but they're not quite four hour movies divided up into parts either. I wish they WERE proper tv shows, this one especially. Clandestine could have been done way better with more episodes. Zoe (who I liked fine!) could have been better if they'd shown a bit more of her being a mean girls before her face turn in the finale. But yeah it was good, Iman Vellani was great and I'm already sure The Marvels is going to be better than Captain Marvel just becaue it'll have her interacting with Brie Larson.

Why is it far fetched? Didn't cops help stop rioters on Jan 6?

I was really worried after the first three episodes were so strong and then the fourth and fifth were kind of weak (although I really liked the India flashback in episode 5) but this finale really stuck the landing. I don't really have anything to add that hasn't already been said, I just wish they'd done seven or eight episodes to give the Karachi/Red Daggers part of the storyline a little more room to breathe.

(Oh, and of course, that word! Yes! :D)

Can't wait for The Marvels.

Am I the only one who wondered what company managed to get a hold of a hi-res/high quality posed picture of Carol Danvers and then produced and sold posters of her? It's probably just me.

You even gotta ask? Tony likely had Carol holoscanned, CGI rendered, trademarked and costume 3D printed for merch (all without her knowing) within the first week of her return to Earth.

We still don't know how much public awareness there was of Carol during the five years of the blip.

A very tiny bit of the X-Men '97 theme plays when Bruno says 'mutation', and it is credited at the end. it's very subtle

I just rewatched it, and if I didn't know that the X-Men theme was there and to listen for it, I never would have even noticed it.

ETA: Just occurred to me; how wild would it be if the introduction of the X-Men is through a version of the "Rogue steals Carol Danvers' powers" storyline? I can see Brie Larson at some point being into the idea of playing a depowered Carol (if only temporarily.) The MCU seems pretty set on evoking the 90's animated version rather than the existing movies, and one key piece that was very prominent in the former but very much not in the latter was a flying, super-strong Rogue.
Also still holding out hope for Laura to be THE Wolverine of the MCU instead of Logan, but I'd be surprised if they're able to show that much restraint.

Oh come now, it wasn't that subtle. I could practically hear every kid that grew up in the 90's sit up a little straighter. ;)

Really? I thought it was a little heavy handed myself. Not that I disapprove, mind.
