Well. it looks like all those people expecting the Enterprise to be given a refit to look like it did in TOS at the end of SNW have just been told they will be disappointed. The Enterprise in 2266 looks just like it does in SNW.

Isn't it an alternate timeline/vision of the future? Maybe Pike never got the refit.

Some did. I think they expected SNW to eventually mesh together exactly with TOS, although it was never actually going to do that, IMO.

Yeah, the idea that every Federation ship in that era was a connie is silly.

And yet, they do seem to be around disproportionately, turning up as guest-ships in three episodes out of four(?) with other Starfleet ships. Well, them or Sombras. Heck, we saw Batel also had a Connie/Sombra in this very episode.

I remember speculation that the (in-universe) reason why Constitution-class ships were so prevalent in TOS was that they were Starfleet's premier long-range vessels, and the design one would likely to commonly encounter on the frontier at the time. Closer to the core Federation worlds, one would see different designs and hardly any Constitution-class ships at all.

I concur, Ford generally doesn't make all that good of an automobile.
