To be accurate, CBS cancelled it, now NBC is picking it up. Likely a reflection of the fact it actually did fairly decent ratings. Indeed, when its cancellation was announced it was said to be the highest rated cancelled show (on any network) this season.

There were 559 English-language scripted shows available in the USA in 2021. More than a few are going to get canceled.

Time Travellers Wife was fantastic. I love it how he hates himself, and that he's almost nearly a pedofile, by tricking his 6 year old wife into digging his vibe.

Why Women Kill season one was outstanding, season two focused on one murderer in one time zone, and was less than.

Tom Swift repulsed me. Too modern and Shique. It's supposed to be a callback to 1950s bad science fiction movies.

    Never bothered with Duncanville.

The EP of MacGyver/Magnum PI was canceled after a sex scandal in 2020 which left both shows on shakey ground.

There's also probably some behind-the-scenes corporate stuff involved as well. To date, the show was a co-production of CBS Studios (which was also the original series' network) and Universal Television (which produced the original show), and new Magnum was being distributed internationally by NBCUniversal, so it only makes sense to bring the show over to NBC if CBS is done with it. Probably some sweet tax incentives from the state, too.

I've been reading about CW Tomorrow People. Is the show worth a watch or just a bad remake?

There are some elements that are okay. Others that were bad. Remakes are tough, and frankly trying to redo THE TOMORROW PEOPLE was already an uphill battle because the original had some... flaws.

No...... I had read bad things about it when I posted that but recently wanted to give it a try but I was still unsure. I struggled with the original 1970s Tomorrow People from the BBC which I did try to watch. Oh and I loved Defiance after a 2nd rewatch.

1st watch of The Tomorrow People I thought it was insanely good. You got a race war between flat scans and mutants, double agents, lies, triple agents and a lot of pretty girls.

2nd Watch: Contrived Berlanti Bullshit with a lot of pretty girls.

Meanwhile I rewatched most of the 70s Tomorrow People not too long ago, where they were having trouble with a Colonel in Military Intelligence, so the Tomorrow People KIDNAP THE PRIME MINISTER of GREAT BRITAIN!

    Total Karens.

    Have you tried Counterpart?

What did you think of the Tomorrow People remake from Down Under, some twenty years ago?

I though it was weird hat they kept jaunting to the ship, and sad that the ship wasn't TIM and excited that Connie Booth from Faulty Towers was was still hot.
