On the one hand, I know that they are pieces of plastic that are probably being wiggled using strings. On the other hand, most of the effect is psycological and it really works.

It also helps how much they look like vomit -- triggers such a visceral disgust reflex. Not to mention the gross sound design on the parasites and the jerkiness of their movements... somehow it all really works.

And to be fair, he's not actually a baddie. He's following orders that he has no way of knowing are wrong.

That's what @Farscape One said when he told me to leave him off! But I said: "Hey, we don't KNOW that yet, he could be Section 31, let's see how season three goes..."

I already saved Eris, I'll now also save Talak'talan. When he casually walked through the forcefield in Ops! Terrifying!

It remains so fascinating to me that Discovery has brought back the Xindi Insectoids as humans in prosthetics, after they were previously pure CGI.

That was the hope! I was thinking about how with Streaming Trek, essentially the fate of everyone in the universe needs to be on the line in every finale, and I said to myself "you used to be able to end a season with cheese and vines!" And then there was a list...

I'll next save the Devidians. They were the villains in the recent "Coda" novel trilogy, which I could not possibly have hated more, so that makes me want to turn on them a little bit -- but they did really work in "Time's Arrow." Such creepy, terrifying villains.

Saving Commander Dolim from "ZERO HOUR".

He was well played by Scott MacDonald, who previously played two very different aliens. (Tosk and Goran'agar... FAR more sympathetic than Dolim. Plus, Rollins in VOYAGER's pilot.)

He was cold, menacing, and brutal... fitting, considering he was the reptile brand of Xindi.

(One of these days, I have to record my wife doing an impression of an Insectoid speaking english. Her version of the last conversation between him and Dolim on the screen always leaves me in stitches.)

I can't quite remember the way the Solar Flare impacted the story in First, First Contact. But, it was a great end to the season, in particular having Freeman making an actual First Contact. I'm still mourning the loss of the poor Pakled Planet as well.

Ninja'd! In that case, I'll save the Cold War, to add to my collection of wars that have popped up on this list. Also, Assignment: Earth is a real guilty pleasure, and is still one I've always liked since I was younger.
