Spoilers "Superman & Lois" Season 2

To be clear, I'm 95% sure that was Bizarro-Tal.

Yes, it clearly was, from his costume. Also, it looked to me like he was under yellow light rather than red, like Bizarro-Jon before, although the different color timing they use for Bizarro World made it look a bit reddish.

The question is, where did regular Tal run off to?

I generally agree with Christopher on Bizarro Earth should've been Spheriod instead of a cube.

The major difference is that they should've mirrored the Continental locations on the map to be up inverted from how we normally view it.

Oh, OK, I missed the costume and thought it was a red light. Which then of course raises the question of where Tal Prime is. I kinda hope he isn't going to turn on them again, it would be a lot more interesting to see them continue trying to work together, rather than going back to fighting.

That doesn't negate the anguish on Lana's face or the conflicted emotions she felt in the moment. That's what I'm taking about. It's the emotion behind it all. The subtext.

John Henry more than wants to pick up with Lois, and it might stop their kids from banging, seriously, I do not like the look of the three of them hanging out.

So if Clark really does love Lana more than Lois no matter how many children she makes for him, no one has to be left crying into their beer at the end of this square dance except Kyle...

Tal-Rho wants to figure out who his wife is supposed to be and learn how to love her... It's Lana Lang... Although there are two Lana's in play right now on Earth Prime.

Kyle could try to hook up with Alt universe super Lana, but she would probably unintentionally kill him while trying to be intimate if she has for gotten how fragile baseline humans are.

Tal-Bro pursuing a relationship with Lana (or Alt-Lana) would fall right in line with this series' soap-opera leanings.

...or Tal-Bro weasels his way into a relationship with Lana, which angers Kyle, only he is--as you point out--fragile, so Tal-Bro "accidentally" kills Kyle defending himself. Sam and Irons would think less of SM (for setting Tal-Bro free for the pendant mission in the first place) than they already do.

With a viewership of 0.68 million for episode 9, and the latest episode being not much better at 0.72, and now without the old CW backing, it seems likely that S&L will end next season... And is it even guaranteed a full season?
Still doing better than Flash though... series low of 0.48 million this season. That's only a bit higher than Stargirl that hit 0.47 this season. The cancelled Batwoman got to 0.41, Naomi 0.43. Tom Swift debuted to a horrible 0.44, so its pretty much a gonner.

Walker seems to be the most watched show on the Network now, followed by Superman... I wonder if Discovery will get any bids on this sinking ship... For some reference, ABC cancelled The Endgame with a low of 1.45 million and Debris by NBC with 2.45 million. The awful La Brea was renewed with a season low of 4.33 million.

EDIT: got more info. In the demo, S&L is still CW's second most watched show, behind All American. Flash is third. The only show with a ratings INCREASE this season over last was Legends of Tomorrow, but still cancelled.

It’ll probably be moved to HBO Max rather than be outright cancelled.
If it comes with improved writing and a higher budget, I would be 100% behind that movie... Hell, even if 1 of those 2 happen :)

If CW has to move its second highest rated show, will it even survive as a network?

Already has pretty good writing, but I would focus more on Superman. Lois is okay but he’s the boss. :)

You know, it's fine to want the show to focus more on super-heroics. But that particular phrasing?

I doubt anyone would be shocked if its next season was the last; having Superman return to Smallville baked certain problems into the plot--namely his being anchored to a very 1990s young adult-styled soap-opera drama. A story can have family drama without out going in that direction, but the showrunners are who they are, and fell back to their patented CW/DC soap-opera writing, which is hardly what anyone thinks of being associated with Superman.

That's to be expected with a series that has run so long--arguably two seasons (or more) past its shelf life.

The phrasing isn’t the only problem. Lois owns half the show’s title, and is every bit as important and interesting a character as Clark. Reducing her role is in no way desirable. If anything, I’d say she’s already been underserved this season, and needs to get more focus and attention.

Yeah. I seem to recall the producers saying before the season started that they planned to focus more on Lois as a reporter this season. But that was misleading, because the only reporter story she was involved with was the one about her own sister, and it was just a setup for her family drama and the Ally Allston/Bizarro stuff that Superman is dealing with.

The problem with a single serial plot arc is that the hero has to keep losing against the bad guy over and over until they finally turn the tide at the end. Episodic plotting lets the hero be more successful and help more people, which is what I want to see from superheroes, especially Superman. The other Arroverse shows were generally pretty good at this, particularly The Flash, which tends to strike a good balance between one-and-done cases of the week and the ongoing serial arc. I'd like to see this show work that way, giving us Superman dealing with villains of the week and Lois dealing with cases of the week, sometimes more one than the other, with serialized family and interpersonal drama alongside the episodic plots.

But Clark literally came back for her, but she was with Kyle at the time.

So he headed off to Metropolis.

It was generally "Bad Timing".

She was with Kyle, but her comment seemed to suggest that she would have left him for Clark if he'd asked. This moment and the feelings of Clark, Lana, and Lois throughout the episode were the most well-done and nuanced portrayal I've seen of the effects of Clark revealing his secret to those around him. This episode was really a highlight of the series for me.

Hard to imagine it was ever true. Men and women are all just human. Some are bosses and some are not.

I was thinking about the days when she was considered Superman's Girlfriend obsessed with finding out his identity. That has not been true since I started reading Superman back in the mid-seventies.

Yeah, that was an intentional comedy series though. I guess that's the closest she ever got to being the "subservient" female.
