You don't need a catalyst for why there are now more mutants than there used to be. That there will be more mutants over time is built into the premise. Next stage of evolution, yadda yadda. Their population is supposed to be increasing anyway. No need to complicate things with the Snap or activating latent mutants or whatever. Just say the natural gradual increase in the mutant population has finally gotten to the point where it's now a Thing.
Maybe they could handwave it by having saying that mutants have always been there, but the numbers were small enough that their existence was mostly the fodder for urban legends and blurry YouTube videos that most people dismiss as hoaxes. But since the Blip there was a sort of baby boom with a lot of teenagers suddenly developing powers. The main character could be Kitty Pride or Jubilee and they can be the audience surrogate who develops powers and gets brought into the mutant world. Nightcrawler should be there as a young student and should be the heart of the movie. Maybe loosely adapt God Loves, Man Kills and keep Striker as a preacher just to have that "You call that a human" scene with Nightcrawler after making the audience just fall in love with him.

I have to say I'm still a little wary of introducing Mutants into the MCU in a big way. Part of the problem is that at it's core, X-Men is a story about prejudice and bigotry in all it's various forms; and so by having essentially a specific group of people to embody ALL of that, while at the same having to cohabitate in a universe with everything else in the MCU runs the risk of either trivialising that struggle, or oversimplifying the central conflicts. Also consider the impact on the other Earthbound stories suddenly having mutants *everywhere* and in numbers large enough for it to cause the kinds of societal friction the story demands. At least with AoS's take on Inhumans, it was a *tiny* percentage of the population so the footprint was relatively minimal. Less a story of sweeping social prejudice, injustice and the like, and more personal stories about coping with a rare diagnosis, or reconciling personal identity with one's heritage.

I've always felt that even in the comics and animated shows, X-Men works best when it has the whole stage to itself to tell that story and give it the dimension and agency it deserves.

I'm not saying it can't be done or shouldn't be done (clearly it can and probably will) I'm a little just worried as to how well it integrates with everything else going on.

I would say that in this day and age, Striker would probably be a better fit for a US Senator, or Governor. The fringe have gotten a lot less "fringy" of late.

A lot of that She-Hulk trailer looked super uncanny valley. There was actually some bits with She-Hulk that looked pretty decent so either it's not fully finished effects, or perhaps the effects are more 'forgiving/believable' depending on the lighting and just how much 'real people/setting' are shown in the shot.

The weird thing is Bruce and Abomination look fine.

I figure they're probably unfinished renders. Still, I'm willing to cut them some slack for characters that are, after all, literally cartoons in their original form. It's not like Jack Kirby or John Byrne drew them photorealistically.

Looks like there were no other announcements at the Upfronts. I know a lot of the stuff they announced two years ago hasn't come out (or even started shooting) but you'd think there would be something new to mention.

Couldn't do the 70s hulk stunt double? Cgi looks like poo..

Honestly, would give a taller/muscular woman a job instead of uncanny cgi..

Should have asked Brigitte Nielsen

So it looks like the series is going to draw on the Dan Slott run, with Jen working for a law firm's superhuman law department. Not unexpected.

I'm surprised that Bruce seems to be fully recovered from the arm injury he sustained undoing the Snap. I got the impression from Endgame that the damage was permanent.
