Terry Matalas: No Stargazer in S3

I think more likely for the Enterprise-F if they go that route. Or whatever ship JL was using before he left SF (Odyssey class?).

I've never really cared much about what the ships look like so I can't really get worked up about this. I do wonder though if they had the Stargazer in season 2 as a way to spread some of the season 3 spending. They didn't really use it much and there was some speculation on where the season 2 budget had gone.

Waaaaiiit, did you actually read the article, OP? Here's the only direct quote from Matalas:
“Should we take this to indicate that the Stargazer is a part of season 3?” Matalas revealed “That is not the Stargazer.”

That does not mean Stargazer isn't in s3, unless I missed something in the article. Otherwise, his words are being twisted here.

Matalas said that there will be lots of ships in season 3. So if we don’t see the Stargazer again, there will be others to take her place. I’m hoping that we’ll actually see the Starfleet Museum. I’m sure we’ll see the Enterprise-F at some point before the show ends, even if it’s just that design from STO.

Trek reusing sets? The horror, the horror!
I know, right? What madness/laziness/hedonism/socialism is Kurtzman pulling this time? Star Trek has never ever reused sets, before he waltzed onto the scene. This makes my blood boil! This is an outrage! My life was Perfect up until this moment. Now Star Trek is ruined, and by extension my life and the world.

*Notices all the times the movie Enterprise bridge set was used on TNG, the Excelsior bridge was used on DS9, the Defiant bridge was used on Voyager and Enterprise, various times various Voyager sets were used in the TNG movies, and even the Enterprise E's bridge doubling as the Valdore bridge in Nemesis.*

Those don't count! THEY DON'T COUNT!!!

What a surprise.

Why wouldn't the Emterprise-E still be in service?
Logically it could, but if someone at Paramount wants a new Enterprise, we'll have to get an Enterprise F. After all, the only reason the Enterprise D was destroyed in Generations and First Contact introduced a brand new Enterprise E was because some higher up at Paramount said "it's been seven years, we need a new Enterprise."
