Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

As I've said before, the earliest I expect to see Season 3 is December, presuming they start Lower Decks Season 3 immediately after SNW, then do Part 2 of Season 1 of PRO, and don't have any overlap or gaps.

There are overlaps now, so hopefully that means we get it sooner rather than later, provided all post is done in time?

^ That kinda fits in with the cards he’s writing in the teaser. The one he’s working on has the words “meet(s) up with” in them. As I said previously, they look like little notes. And he has a serious look on his face while he’s writing them in the middle of the night. The Illuminerdi article concerning his rumored son spoke of a “conspiracy” (yeah I know, I’d love for the aliens from said episode to make a return, too) surrounding the galaxy. Maybe old-fashioned hand-written notes during a dinner are the only way for him to communicate with one or more of his old friends (he does sign the card with his first name and there’s no room for his last name AND he puts a dot after he has written his first name, as if to end a sentence, so, long story short, this stuff is not something super formal) because comm channels have been compromised? Who knows. ;)

Interesting...I agree for sure that the notes aren't indicative of something good happening. I know there's been talk that they are wedding invites but I don't believe that. Writing them in the middle of the night with a thunderstorm in the background that suggests a . I thought maybe the were "goodbye" notes. That whatever compels Picard to go back into space he believes he's not going to come back.

They sure look like something serious, yes. The look on his face when he's writing them is so massively serious - who writes wedding invitations with such a look on their face? I have that look on my face when I do my taxes :shifty:

Whoever they're for, tho... I hope they can decipher them, because Sir Patrick's (and now also Jean-Luc's handwriting since this makes his handwriting canon I guess) handwriting is... umm... let's call it 'quite unique'. Whenever I post a picture of something he has written people ask me to translate parts of it or all of it

On the other hand, he really does good there, it's the first time I've seen him writing something with a fountain pen, and since I myself am a huge fountain pen fan (I write almost everything with a fountain pen), I know that a fountain pen forces you to write as nicely as you possibly can. It all looks a lot more orderly than his usual chaotic handwriting already, which should it make it easier to decipher what he's written (I can make out some of the words but they're all parts of one or two bigger sentences, so they don't make much sense on their own). I mean maybe that's why he's writing with the fountain pen, he knows it would be awkward or even VERY bad if the person he's writing to couldn't make out what the note is saying... :shifty:

I hope it's the E again with a new bridge and a little bit of a makeover. I'd rather see the last ship's heroic last mission (or any mission really) than see another new ship get introduced right after the Stargazer.

It will be weird though - new bridge is a redress of Stargazer (they look practically the same!)

JUNE 16 is Captain Picard Day - trailer/release date?

I signed up for the Paramount + streaming service so I could watch Strange New Worlds and I watched Picard also. And I have some questions after watching the season 2 finale. I will put them in a spoiler space.

1) Did I understand Wesley the Traveler correctly? It sounded like he said the Travelers were connected with the people who recruited Tailinn and Gary Seven.

2) Since Agnes is the Borg queen now, does that mean the Borg are different and always had been different than they were before? Because it was still the 21st century when she left.

3) Why is Q alone? What happened to his mate and child?

4) So Seven can drink alcohol now?

I mean Star Trek has never used redressed sets before ;). I will admit that in previous Trek productions they've generally moved things around to make it look slightly different but then again in Star Trek VI every set except the bridge was clearly used from TNG's standing sets.

No need for tags here, the thread has a spoiler tag already

1) Yes
2)That was the confederation timeline, she some how crossed over to the prime one
3)idk
4)She probably built up a tolerance.

Is September too early? Especially if it's a split-season? November/Dec feels better (i.e. popping the first few out just before the holiday season)
I have doubts they'll do a split season, particularly since the season is only ten episodes. Especially since Paramount+ doesn't like doing split seasons in general. IIRC, it was only due to pandemic-related production delays that resulted in Disco S4 and Prodigy S1 being hacked up the way they were, and in the case of Prodigy the producers already promised they won't be releasing episodes in blocks of five anymore.

I definitely expect a trailer, yeah.

If the Ent-F is the hero ship of Season 3 I doubt they'll use a STO design for the Ent-F. They'll want something original for the hero ship. If it's not the hero ship, then maybe.

One of the show artists said this on twitter.
