Definitely more differences here even though the saucer remained oval shaped. Warp nacelles are spaced way further out now, so not as "stubby" looking as the Nebula. Much more difference in the nacelles themselves. More swept back like the Shenzhou.
What's an organic look for ships? I would think formations would be strictly patterned.

The Borg are all about perfection and precision. The Federation ships were under temporary Borg Queen control and formed up in a manner consistent with their tactical and strategic philosophy.

I took it as given that the ships have to be in near-perfect alignment for the combined shield effect to work. The Borg are the perfect ally in this situation since they are adept at that kind of coordination.
Don't forget the vaunted tachyon detection grid from Redemption II. Same idea, but the ships were much farther apart.
Yeah, the fleet is arranged in a regular Starfleet formation at the start (ie. ships all over the place) and at the end they're in a Borg-controlled shield formation.
A combat formation is whatever it needs to be based on the enemy's tactics.
That formation was literally arranged for a PR Photographic shot for the public.Yeah, real ships would never line up in formation like that...
Carrier groups do have formations like that, but they're spread out a bit further than in that photo.
A bit further is a "Understatement".
So...not coordinated by the Borg then?
Also, much like the above photo, the ships in Picard were arraigned for a photographic shot.
I think they were arraigned for a Shield Wall to protect the against the Giant Beam Blast of doom.
The Camera just happened to have nice pans of the entire scene that we audience members can screen cap.
The Borg Queen is nothing if not thorough.
We need a better name for her than just "The Borg Queen".
Given that she might be part of the "Borg Cooperative" or another sect/faction of the Borg that isn't affiliated with the traditional "Borg Collective".
Deks idea of "Borgati" sounds too much like a Sweedish-Italian sports car.
How about "Queen BorAgnes"?
