Dude, how much do we fans complain about little details? Really, we are going to treat Berman poorly for something fans do on the regular?
He wanted to be in charge, he should do things right. He did in the beginning (for the most part), but towards the end, he failed epically and the only thing that could have saved Enterprise was Manny Coto. When questioned about that, he very pettily and arrogantly whined "This is NOT the Manny Coto show!" and gave us the abomination that was TATV that he referred to as a "love letter to the fans".

What are your thoughts on the ENT Bird of Prey, which is 95% indentical to the one in the classic movies, Next Gen and DS9?
With all due respect, I do not care. I do not go around saying "Fuck him" to people I do not know because they made some creative decision I don't agree with. I reserve my ire for other things. Berman doesn't rank amongst the top 100 issues I have with Star Trek.
And holding him to a double standard where fans will complain is a bussard is the wrong color but a producer can look at a model and go "I don't like the lights" is the quintessential reaction I have come to expect from fandom who puts more value on to technical details than people.
That is an attitude that I say "fuck it" to. People matter more.

The Watsonian explanation for why the BoP seems to be a relatively static design, as given in the officially licensed Haynes Klingon Bird-of-Prey manual, is that Klingons believe the BoP is literally the perfect starship design – versatile, powerful, capable – and so they see no reason to change it unless absolutely necessary. Hence why they also make them in multiple sizes.
That might be a nice bookend for the series finale.
Question is: will they pick the STO version of the E-F or something else? Based on recent design choices for the ships used in PIC, likely the former.

Funniest thing of all, is that this D4 looks to me the same as the D7, but with a bit of scaffolding on the neck and shoulders. That's it.
It's meant to be 100 years before yet these Klingon ships look virtually identical, at best contemporary variants of the same ship let alone something from a prior century.
