I'm OK with that. While he last Spiderman movie was amazeballs I wasn't really a fan of how he handled the character in the first two spiderman films.

I agree. The last film was great, but I consider the first two MCU Spider-Man films to be some of the few mediocre (at best) MCU films, so I'm glad we'll be getting someone different for the FF movie.

Seeing as how Watts wanted to do Spider-Man with as few of the Spider-Man trappings as possible, to put his own stamp on it; I’m kind of glad he’s left F4.

To me it feels like this F4 needs a bells and whistles full on Stan and Jack and all the trimmings for the 2020s approach, not cutting things off. Full Four must be attained this time.

If they wanted to keep FF with an in-house director, I would’ve said go with Peyton Reed. But I’m sure there are plenty of directors who have yet to work with Marvel who would do a good job.

It's beginning to look like (a Guardians) Christmas.

As someone who loathes the idea of a 1960s period piece FF that Reed wanted to do at one point (there is literally nothing about the premise of the FF that makes them being in the 60s neccessary, just like how Iron Man didn't need to be injured in Vietnam) and who considers Ant-Man & The Wasp to be the worst MCU film (or maybe second worst after Eternals, I can't quite decide on that), I don't want him anywhere near the Fantastic Four.

I can't wait to watch Mantis being blown away by the living statue.
You'd think she'd just assume he was one of The Sovereign. ;)
Does look like it. That would be a great bit of continuity!
Moon Knight is in London. This looks like it's meant to be LA to me. So probably not. Unless they're ALL Sovereign spies . . . :shifty:
"Just in his head" as in "a figment of his imagination".
Why would a random couple ask to have their picture taken with a figment of his imagination? More to the point why would he imagine a living statue as the only person willing (forced!?) to listen to him. Obviously the gag here is that he has no friends, and this is just slightly less tragic than having him try and befriend the pigeons.

Unless Steven is imagining those people interact with him and the statue

Why would he be? As far as I recall, nothing in this show has given us any indication that Steven hallucinates, beyond seeing Marc talking to him in mirrors. That's not the nature of his condition. Yes, he imagined talking to his mother on the phone every day, but every "conversation" we saw him have with her was actually leaving a message on her voice mail, saying he was sorry he missed her. We never actually saw him reacting as if he heard her voice.

Besides, as StCoop said, "Living Statue" performance artists can be found in any major city. It's one of the standard routines for street mimes. So what possible reason is there for thinking the Statue guy isn't real? That's a fundamental misreading of the bit. The idea is not that Steven is hallucinating -- the idea is that he's so pathetically lonely and friendless that the only person he can carry on a conversation with is a guy whose job requires him to stay frozen and silent so that he can't walk away or brush Steven off.

I mean, hell, if Steven were hallucinating a friend, surely he'd hallucinate one who did respond to him.
