SNW uniforms and characters revealed (old and new)

That's been SFX's problem forever, as they always have an actor's face covering up the bottom of the F on the cover. Do a Google image search for "sfx magazine" and you'll see what I mean.
"Problem", I bet they're doing it on purpose. Like pulling one of these:

I gotta say that after the teaser trailers and stuff, the one critique in ration to the cast is that instead of a possible Khan-relative I'd prefer it if Christina Chong's character was an alien.
I liked her wellenough in her teaser trailer, I'd just like her better if she was an alien, and I think the crew's too human-heavy.

I was so glad to see that almost the entire cast is human.

Star Trek aliens are nice as a little leavening, but they've increasingly become kind of fetishistic grotesqueries. They rarely are plausible and don't meaningfully represent "diversity" - that requires a diverse group of (human) performers.

I would like to think that humans have enough diversity that multiple humans in a cast could still be quite unique in their composition.

And the alien species they chose is an Aenar, a race of people a lot of fans have wanted to know more about since ENT was on the air. The Aenar character may be a brilliant stroke and not just because the actor himself is also blind as a match for the physical traits of an Aenar.
