I'm really bad at math here. SNW and (possibly) 31 at the same time?
Are we wanting more spin offs?
And Disco.

I'm really not trying to be thick headed or stubborn but I am just not following.
Ok, I got it. I just don't count Disco any more due to the time change. But, that's fair.My point was that (I'm assuming) SNW and S31 are set/to be set around Disco's time period.
As opposed to 3 24th Century air shows (Picard, Prodigy, and Lower Decks) currently airing? And all of these shows have been renewed for a yet to stream third season.Let's see ...
1, 2, 3 ... three Disco-era shows on at the same time.
What is wrong with this picture?
S31 would be better off as a movie. They're doing Mission: Impossible right now on Picard!

I am hoping Section 31 moves a little bit more forward in time.

I also remind you that Star Trek Discovery itself is now in the 32nd century; and for two years there hasn't been a single 23rd century era show streaming on Paramount+.
So even if a 23rd Century based Section 31 show is produced and aired by next year, we'll have to shows set in the 23rd Century era; which would be the same amount of shows in 24th century after Picard's 3rd season finishes.
So yeah sorry if I don't see your analysis as correct. Assuming all the other shows get renewals after Picard ends, and we got a Section 31 series; we would have one 32nd Century show, through 24th/25th Century shows, and two 23rd Century air shows.
Looks pretty symmetric to me.![]()
Do we count Short Treks, or is that show dead?As opposed to 3 24th Century air shows (Picard, Prodigy, and Lower Decks) currently airing? And all of these shows have been renewed for a yet to stream third season.

(And after seeing Michelle Yeoh's latest film: Everything Everywhere All At Once, I hope we're lucky enough to get a Star Trek series with her as the Headliner.)

I should've clarified:
S1 Disco
Picard takes place twenty years after Prodigy and LD.
That's pretty much dead.
That's pretty much dead.
I some some die-hards hated it, but I loved Disco's version of S31, as a legitimate branch of Starfleet with their own fleet of black USS Vengeance-style deathships. And I want to see what became of Ash Tyler as S31 chief.Section 31 has never been handled well outside of DS9. I have zero faith in the writers of Picard or Disco being able to do a Section 31 series any justice at all. Even if there were competent writers involved, I still would not want a series with Emperor Georgiou as the lead or frankly, even as a secondary character. Hopefully her final appearance in Discovery season 3 is the last we'll see of that character.
They could have introduced a new intelligence agency or whatever Disco's version of S31 was supposed to be, rather than hijack the group from DS9. S31 as we know it from DS9 is a secretive agency that few people in Starfleet even know about. Perhaps the idea was that after the events of Disco season 2, S31 would no longer be an established/legitimate organisation but would instead fade into the shadows and eventually re-emerge during the events of DS9. I could live with that. But that obviously contradicts the proposed S31 series which would just continue to promote S31 as a well known arm of Starfleet without the secrecy and intrigue they were better known for in DS9.I some some die-hards hated it, but I loved Disco's version of S31, as a legitimate branch of Starfleet with their own fleet of black USS Vengeance-style deathships. Doesn't contradict anything. We don't know how the series is going to go at all. It could be extremely clandestine missions, moving, as you say, from a legitimate arm to a shadow operation, after the damage done in Season 2. These two things are not contradictory. They could have introduced a new intelligence agency or whatever Disco's version of S31 was supposed to be, rather than hijack the group from DS9. And their overreach nearly destroyed the organization. It's call retreat and regroup. Ruined? Hardly.I hope it doesn't happpen. DIS has ruined S31 already enough. S31 went from a super-secret organization to a household brand. Everyone knew about it in the 23rd century, they operated a large starbase and gazillions of starships, had operatives on Starfleet vessels wearing shiny black badges, and had technology that would give 25th century Starfleet a run for its money.
What's in a name?Personally, the more I hear about what the series is about, the more I think they should just drop the name. Drop the whole organisation. I don't want to watch a series about the bad guys saving the day by breaking Federation rules, but I'd totally watch a Star Trek: Impossible series about a bunch of misfits helping people with their clever plans and disguises.
