I don't mind the 2024 stuff myself either. It's the lack of a plot moving forward that gets tedious, but that's not a 2024 thing. For what it's worth I like the 2024 stuff. But so many on here seem to hate it.

It's not clear what True Trek even is. At least Star Wars has the original films of episodes 4-6 to fall back on that even the most vicious warring factions all seem to like. I don't think TOS has that same hold due to not aging as well as the SW films, even with the remastered effects.
Sorry, but I highly doubt that unless you're talking to a subpopulation that is different from the general population. Normal people link endorphins with happiness and pleasure.Again, you say it's common but common to who? When I talk and educate people about endorphins one of the first ideas that jump to mind for them is "breaking something." Not exercise, not sex, or whatever. Something are very visceral. Breaking things is one of those things.
Well, I am working with people who are struggling with mental illness.Sorry, but I highly doubt that unless you're talking to a subpopulation that is different from the general population. Normal people link endorphins with happiness and pleasure.

Well, there you go. You're talking with a certain subpopulation that's not representative of the overall population.Well, I am working with people who are struggling with mental illness.
I freaking LOVE rollercoasters. But I too don't associate breaking things with fun.I'm one of those weird people who doesn't enjoy rollercoasters, so I can't imagine breaking things on purpose to be much fun.
I still don't hear the average person talking endorphins. Regardless, this isn't a normal situation for Agnes. So I would not treat it as a normal person would.Well, there you go. You're talking with certain subpopulation that's not representative of the overall population.
Keep in mind, a big thing about Bipolar Disorder is that it can get worse with age.I'm going to withhold full judgement until the whole situation gets explained, but there's a bit not sitting right with me about the whole Picard family situation. Let's accept the notion that Mama Picard refused treatment, despite it being shown that she was a danger to her children. And that danger apparently isn't reason enough to have her committed, or else the option doesn't exist within the Federation. So then Papa Picard just...keeps her locked up until she comes down from her manic state whenever she has a swing, and hopes he finds Jean-Luc in time again next time? And also allows wee Jean-Luc to stand by while his mother pounds on the door and pleads to be let out/for him to save her?
Whoof. From what we know right now, it's still a bad look for Papa Picard. He couldn't force his wife's hand, but he had a responsibility to minimize the harm, emotional and otherwise, to the kids, and it doesn't look like he did so. But we'll see how that all wraps up; sounds like there's more coming on that front.
I doubt that it’s a coincidence that the second half of the season had Akiva Goldsman as showrunner. Everything he touches in a creative capacity ends up as a dumpster fire. I am sure, however, that he is a competent administrator, and shows up on time.77) The season has been steadily going downhill altogether. Wonder if its on purpose so that the writers can slap us like Q slapped Picard earlier in the season?
I always thought of it as them beaming the guard and Christopher into their places at the exact second when they were beamed up. It doesn't look that way in the episode, but it's what I always thought.

So far, I don’t hate any of the concepts that have been presented this season. If anything, a lot of them would make for good standalone episodes. Childhood trauma (Picard), loneliness in a technological wonderland (Jurati), losing one’s self in the/a romance in a past era (Rios), the Borg as victims (Queen/Jurati), an inability to connect… these are all wonderful themes that deserve the Trek treatment. But the current Trek *format* can’t support any of these ideas. The current highly compressed, serialized iteration has to bounce around before any emotional beats can be had that satisfy or resonate.
Not every episode needs to be action packed. Not every scene needs a callback. Not every plot needs to be touched on every episode.
I watch, I see the ideas introduced and think “Man, I’d love to see this idea breathe a little. Too bad there’s going to be a phaser fight ten seconds from now.”
I don't think they painted it black, that's just the reflections. Look at the side closest to the camera. They even painted Janeways coffee table black... Why are nuTrek sets always so dark?
now I demand a time travel LDS episode. We know they are going there someday, right?Mariner & crew
in this episode there was a shot of la sirena at daytime (looked like morning).14) I’d imagine it would take her time to go back and forth to her apartment. Next we have no idea how late in the night Picard was taken to the clinic. And at least the sun comes up in LA. It has never come up once where La Sirena is ever since it crashed. You’d think the planet was tidally locked or something.
this season is much more to my liking than the last (that I still enjoyed).22-24, 37-38, 41-47, 52, 55-56, 68, 74-76) We get it, the characters are all stupid and the writing leaves a lot to be desired. To be fair, it was all better last season, but fans complained.
just because he’s on the board doesn’t mean he can order security to mille her.39) Or Renee has an “accident” and falls out the window of whatever hotel she’s staying at when Europa gala security pays her a visit, courtesy of Adam Soong.
It’s more about emotional release, I seem to understand. It’s why some people grows addicted to fighting, for example.Sorry, but I highly doubt that unless you're talking to a subpopulation that is different from the general population. Normal people link endorphins with happiness and pleasure.
the last phaser fight was more than a month ago…I watch, I see the ideas introduced and think “Man, I’d love to see this idea breathe a little. Too bad there’s going to be a phaser fight ten seconds from now.”
