Spoilers Season 3 Cast Announcement

If it was the Stargazer, I don't think Drexler would have felt the need to blur out the ship graphic. We've already seen the Stargazer. I think this has to be the Enterprise.
That blurred graphic is on the tactical station, could just be whatever they've locked phasers onto. I'd like to imagine if it were meant to be a different bridge than the Stargazer (and an important/iconic one at that) they'd have done more to change it up than put a different graphic up on one screen.

The nostalgia bait is over 9000.

The LCARS coloring is more Ent-E-ish than Stargazer's was in the first episode.

Don't even bother watching it. You already know what you think before seeing a single frame.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe they're doing this because they want to? No, of course it didn't.

And NEM was about as good of a Final Word for TNG as "Turnabout Intruder" would've been for TOS. But you're letting your blind automatic hatred of New Trek stop you from seeing any of this at all. You only see two things: cynicism and charts.

All good things come to an end... again!

The fan boy in me wants them to show the Enterprise D, as that's the ship most associated with TNG. The saucer still exists. What if it's in the Fleet Museum? Restored with a new secondary hall. What if the TNG springs it?

According to the background blurb on the Enterprise-D's memorial plaque that we see in the background in the Starfleet Academy scenes in S02E01, the saucer was salvaged from Veridian III and is in the Starfleet Museum (Dave Blass tweeted a close-up):

Okay that might be too fanwanky. But I dislike the Enterprise E. Not my favorite Starship Enterprise.

But I'll be up for an Enterprise F.

Imagine the Fandom breaking in half if an elderly Tng crew steal the saucer, hook it up with some nearby secondary hull, and have some random Starbase officer yell, "Someone is STEALING the enterprise!"

I'd feel real bad for the anti-fanwank crowd but will be besides myself with nostalgia driven joy. Wank away!

8 years. next to the Kelvin Enterprise (2258-2263), that is that shortest I've seen a starship be in service. The Kelvin Enterprise lasted Four years 10 months and 23 days.

I need to see more but honestly? I’m finding this a little difficult to get excited about. The promise from the beginning was Picard would NOT be TNG part 2. I like what they did with Will and Deanna in “Nepenthe” but that was a one off. Plus I’ve really enjoyed the new characters. My guess now is very few will be coming back. And that makes me sad. But, I suppose we’ll wait and see.
This trailer feels like Picard's story is going backward.

Yo! Let's talk about how this is going to play out.
Picard and TNG crew aboard the Enterprise E or F team up with Rios and crew aboard the Stargazer for an incredible adventure. End of the season, Stargazer is destroyed and Rios and Co get the E.

It's a passing of the torch.

We will get 4-5 season of SNW and then we'll get a Kirk and crew on the 2nd five year mission on the NCC-1701 (no bloody a,b,c or xyz).

Everything we are seeing is a passing of the torch.

I'd think people in their 90s would naturally be in "looking backward" mode anyway.

In PIC's three seasons, we'll have seen his three homes as they are "now": the Vineyard, the Stargazer, and the Enterprise. I'm assuming. Or at least the Enterprise crew.

The purpose of PIC seemed clear to me: tie up loose ends (S1), do a Q Movie (S2), and give the TNG Crew a better Final Adventure than NEM (S3). This is a terminal series and once it does these things, the series is done. Hopefully there's a spin-off with the new characters and Seven after this, so they can continue without TNG.

And to all those who don't want any TNG characters in the TNG character show with the TNG character name... go watch Disco, LDS, PRO, SNW... plenty of other shows for everyone.

That is not much of an answer to those who like the Picard cast, and are concerned that they will be sidelined.

Hopefully that won't happen, but it's not an unreasonable concern.
