Wait, is the French cop played by Ivo Nandi from Boardwalk Empire? He looks just like Joe Masseria from the show, but with a beard.

It is a shame that there is only a single 8 in her passport number, otherwise this first string of numbers could be the airdate of Encounter at Farpoint (09/28/87). She also had her passport issued on the same day Discovery premiered and was born on the release date of First Contact. Quite a nice collection of easter eggs in this which leads me to wonder if there are any other clues or hints in the numbers here?

There's no 47, which is a mistake.
 
Thought Spiner and de Lancie were both terrific, as was that whole side of the episode. Got a lot of shades of Into Darkness, with Khan/Q providing a cure for their respective daughters in exchange for something undoubtedly horrific.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot more than last week's. Felt focused in a way that one didn't.
 
Can't screengrab it but check out the honeycomb matrix on Holly's passport. Big queen of the hive signal there.

Soong's not a fan of cats, I take it. Cloning them could be quite lucrative.

Picard read up on Kirk's missions quite a bit since meeting the man, methinks. "And one time, Kirk's Enterprise was held immobile in space by a giant green hand. Yes! And he met Abe Lincoln." Seriously, it's always awesome when he mentions him.

Wow. We can add theft of cellular service to the list of horrors committed by the Borg.

This episode felt like it was all plot to move things forward quickly. It seemed to move fast and jump around. The Rios situation was resolved very fast to get the crew back together. We are introduced to Soong and his daughter. We get exposition on the Renee Picard. We see Q manipulating things. We get a big development with the Borg Queen as she dies but transfers her mind to Agnes. And we end with a set up of the next part of the story arc with the ball and protecting Renee.

I am still curious what Q's plan really is. Is he trying to create the Confederation timeline? It seems that way. If so, why? Q said that he was showing Picard a timeline of his own making which implies Picard creates the confederation timeline. Maybe it is one of those paradoxes where Picard accidentally creates the very Confederation timeline that he is trying to prevent? Or maybe this Q is from the Confederation timeline so he is like a mirror Q? Might explain the facial hair and the more aggressive behavior.
