DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

I am not going to pretend to know what is actually going on with Ben Affleck’s Batman. If the initial plan was for the character to really be killed off. I mean permanently. No doubts of him surviving. That would mean he signed on to the movie with that understanding. Which equals his approval.

But we do not know with absolute certainty that is what the real plan was. Lots of rumors - but from sources who may never have seen the full script.

Very possible the plan was always to have Affleck’s character appear to die early in the story. Once reality is restored or reconfigured he is alive.

Nothing changes that publicly he has said he is done with the role. Giving him a happy ending is fine with me.

I'm wondering if Will Smith winning his Oscar will make it more expensive to bring him back as Deadshot.

However, that WILL go down as one of his "Best Hits"....

Didn't the sequel not using him pretty much say they really don't have to go back to him and probably won't?

Yeah, Bloodsport had pretty much the exact same backstory as Deadshot, so I have a feeling they went with him because they couldn't get Will Smith back, and decided to have Idris Elba play a different character rather then recast. So I have a feeling if they're going to go with one of their characters again, it will probably be Bloodsport.

Honestly, while I thought Will Smith's Deadshot was ok, I liked Elba's Bloodsport a lot more, and not just because The Suicide Squad was a better film then the first one in every way. I'd be fine with seeing him again, but I'm not particularly bothered if we don't.

No.

The reason we got Idris at all is because Will wasn't available, and the only reason they didn't just have Idris play Deadshot is so that Will could potentially come back.

Which of course they would say even if it wasn't true, but you ALWAYS believe the company line. Sad.

So... basically what I said. Will wasn't available. They moved on. Which means they can continue to move past him with zero issues.

No need for condescension.

With all his troubles with the laws I’m surprised WB hasn’t recast Barry Allen

unfortunately he’s probably already too deep into the dc universe to be recast

-he made that peacekeeper cameo
-the cameo in the flash series
-He’s the main star of the first Flash movie

To remove and recast him after 7 years of being known as movie Barry Allen would be messy

Its actually pretty simple, he just goes away after The Flash movie. If the movie is a Flashpoint type film, which it seems to be, they can recast Barry Allen and retroactively say the new actor was the one who did those earlier cameos. Barry messing up time so badly that he now has a different face would nnot be the worst thing a version of Barry has done while time traveling.

They could also just recast him and not mention it. No one complains about Don Cheadle not being in Iron Man 1, or Mark Ruffalo not being in Incredible Hulk. We've had, what, half a dozen James Bonds but people still act like roles can't just be recast without explanation when they need to be.

Some rumblings from a test screening of "The Flash". Could be fake but here goes

-Superman timeline erased. Zod restored. Caville gone for good
-You want to get nuts? Keaton is 'nuts'
-Affleck lives, but is trapped someplace. This is a post-credits scene. Rumour is he'll be back for a Crisis movie
-Christian Bale cameos
-Black Flash is the villain

I don't mind most of it, but point 1 is a total non-starter for me (doesn't mean I'll mount a boycott or anything--just that I'll think it's a colossally idiotic aspect, if true).
