Worf was pretty much ignorant about Trill culture

He got into hissy fits when Ezra came on board where he wasnt fond of her because of Jadzia's memories and the Trill thing inside of Ezra.

He was pretty much a butthead about the whole time.

Worf was definitely ignorant if he thought her name was Ezra!

This much can be said for certain: there was a lopsided level of interest within Worf & Jadzia's marriage, where Jadzia was virtually an expert on Klingon history & culture (not only from Curzon's experience, but also her own interest), whereas Worf seemed to know next-to-nothing about Trill history or culture, nor did he express any interest in doing so. The premise of the OP is still deeply flawed, as debunked by the other posters.

That's why I'll always say the O'Briens did it best when it came to a well-balanced multicultural marriage! :bolian:

I don't blame Worf for not knowing as much about Trill as Dax knew about Klingons, because he hadn't had a whole previous career as ambassador between them to draw on. However, you're right, he seemed to have very little interest in learning.

Actually, Worf's behavior is pretty much part of the reason why hosts aren't supposed to connect with the families of their symboint's former hosts....

And, of course Worf was grieving. I'd bet many Trill widows/widowers would respond similarly to Worf if they were in his shoes in that situation.

Dax and Worf were always a weird pairing but remember Dax was a legenday Klingonophile obsessed with Worfs culture, the same one Worf was devoted to. Add onto that Trill culture being fairly secretive and somewhat ethnocentric for a Federation world and it's easy to see why Worf wouldn't be too up on the finer spots of Trill culture.

I feel like the Trill past relationships thing was inconsistently handled. They had no problem with Jadzia palling around with Sisko nor Ezri hooking up with Worf, yet Jadzia and Lenara was off limits. The Trill joining thing was a secret and it took hard work to get joined and yet Ezri joined and it didn't cause some Trillions to start asking questions. Do we learn anything about Trill other than stuff relating to being a joined Trill? They read books because Audrid read something to her kid once. Most of Jadzia's interests I can think of come from other cultures, like tongo or doing Klingon shit. Maybe Jadzia is like those people who doesn't talk about their homeland because it sucks or whatever.
Anyway, they should have stuck the worm on ice, stuck it in someone trained and told that person to stay away from DS9 or they're calling the cops.
And I think Worf deserves some slack for being weirded out that Jadzia's ghost was living on in Ezri. She didn't get into Klingon heaven and then he blew up a sun and got her in on a technicality and thought he was done with all that and could move on, and then her ghost shows up to ruin his day.

^Ezri wasn’t part of the program, and they had no say in Starfleet- I figured it was more of a taboo policy for Trill in that program, than the entire Trill civilization.

I like both of the two Dax hosts equally but in different ways. I know people love Jadzia a lot, but I don't agree that she's Better Than Ezra.
Ezra was a mixed bag, the entire first half of the 7th season was essentially devoted to getting us invested in the character which was largely pointless IMO as only half the plots devoted to Ezra were really necessary and impactful, really could have done with just the reconciliation with Worf and her family drama episode. The actor really did a good job working with what she was given and gave us a version of the character we could all enjoy, her ending up with Bashir was a great ending for both characters and leaves an open plot for audiences and fans to imagine. Although I prefer Jadzia overall, Ezra is also great and given another season or 2, could have equalled or eclipsed her as a character as the actor had better range.

I don't think the ending with Ezri and Bashir getting together made any sense. It looks like more pity - poor Dr. Bashir hasn't gotten any since Leeta broke up with him, and isn't it about time he did?

I thought it was specifically forbidden for Trill symbiont hosts to be romantically involved with new hosts of symbionts that their past host/symbiont combos were involved with, if that makes sense. Being friends with Sisko isn't a romantic involvement, but he's not a joined Trill anyway. The thing that happened with Worf might be frowned upon, but he's not a joined Trill either. And Ezri probably isn't going to mention that incident to the Trill Symbiosis Commission or whatever it's called, anyway.

^as she didn't intend to have a symbiont, the commission probably would go easy on her.

For a guy who was raised in and around Human culture, he was pretty ignorant of that that, too.

When I watched the Birthright two-parter on a rewatch, I thought that it'd be awesome if that Klingon lawyer Archer befriended met Worf and told him that the Klingon using that "weapon" gardening was actually using it correctly and that the Warrior Castle fucked it up.

Everything about Ezri was a bad idea. Jadzia should have either been kept on as a part timer, or the Dax character should have been retired. And it made no sense whatsoever that a newly joined Trill who was still dealing with all manner of neuroses should have been a station counselor. Literally anyone else would have been better. Except maybe Worf.
