Spoilers Legacy character announced for SNW

There is. And if Strange New Worlds doesn't grab for episode 1 then I'll move on. No sense in wasting time. Haven't with Picard since Episode 1.

Cool. I gave up on Picard S1 after about four eps and DIS after about the fourth of fifth ep of S3. I realized I was making myself watch them out of some sense of trekobligation and wasn't really enjoying myself. So I stopped. Anger need not be involved if you don't want to watch a tv show.

For whatever it's worth, I wasn't expecting Kirk to already be a captain when introduced, I expected him to serve under Pike for a season prior to taking command. But everyone saying "it's too soon!" is smoking the wrong stuff. Writer's guides are not canon. Kelvin Kirk made captain (of the Enterprise, no less) at 25. Anything older than that is fair game (and this Kirk is playing 28, just one year older than Star Trek Beyond's Kirk)

Spend an awful lot of time posting here. ;)
Between seeing clients. Can't watch Trek at work.

Right now, anger is involved.

Like I said, I'll be mad for a while.

Yeah, but I'm not really going by canon, I'm going by common sense. Kirk got a pass in the Abrams films because he ended up saving Earth and the Federation from a unique threat. Beating the same drums in SNW is going to come across as really unimaginative.

Kirk was the youngest captain in TOS lore before the Kelvin movie came along and moved things back. And in the TOS timeframe he probably joined Starfleet at 17 instead of 22. That's 5 more years of grinding.

IIRC Diane Carey's Enterprise: The First Adventure has Kirk become captain at 27 or 28, he was second officer of the U.S.S. Lydia Sutherland and took command when a crisis killed or incapacitated the captain and first officer.

I don't know if that show ever even aired in Germany. Whereas the MARVEL stuff is everywhere!

Is it any good? Normally the only Westerns I like are from the 70s. And from Italy.:guffaw:
I love it to death. It's a great showcase of Mount's lead acting talent, and his co-star was Colm Meaney, who was also awesome in it (playing a crooked railroad baron loosely based on a historical figure). I don't know what your options for watching it in Germany would be...it had been on Netflix in the US for years and years, but recently left there. It's purchasable on iTunes here.

Can't hear "Hell on Wheels" without thinking of this song:

It is essentially about the towns that pop up at various spots as the railroad moves West.

Hmmm...well, not a fan of Westerns or railroads but that sounds different.
