You can make up your own show in your head, and I'm sure it would be very interesting to its demographic of one, but that is not what was said in the dialogue.Voyager also was enhanced with Borg tech.
My point is that the flagship would be as up to date as any other new ship.
Enterprise was probably doing something important. Like transporting ambassadors from one planet to another.
Q as a Jabberwocky taunting ponies...nice. Maybe he should have sent them to the J-25 System.Or "real" My little Pony Friendship is Magic.
John is bringing in a lot of overweight 50 year old bronies into Trekdom.
To beam through shields you have to know the shield frequencies.I thought the Queen just beamed on the ship that had Picard. It being enhanced by an old Borg cube was irrelevant
Guinan's scene here was directly related to Picard's earlier exchanges with Laris, and was clearly set-up for Picard's arc through the season, set-up which needed to take place before the primary plot-arc kicked in on Stargazer. So no, it was not unrelated to anything else, and no, it could not have been pushed back an episode. It was in exactly the right place.Maybe they could have punted Guinan an episode (since her cameo was clearly just crammed in there with no real relation to anything) just to spread those out a bit? Downright laughable.
On this note, one of the things that is getting more and more impossible to ignore is the complete absence of Klingons in Season 3/4 of Discovery and Season 1 and probably all of 2 of Picard. I don't think I'm taking too much of a guess here to say that the avoidance is intentional.I think it's pretty likely that there will be a 25th century continuation show following Picard. One of the things we don't know is when the Starfleet Academy show will be set, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up shooting in LA. I had thought it would be in the Disco future era following the Tilly story this season, but introducing Picard as Academy commandant and Elnor as a cadet might be a hint.
I think when we all saw those incredible Enterprise sets in Disco season 2 we all knew they hadn't just been built for those episodes. We'll see.
They did a decent job with CGI de-aged Q, so I wouldn’t be completely upset if that happens.Anyone else think it was a little cheap to have the teaser cut the way it was so lots of important dialogue is missing?
Also since Ten Forward is in LA, are we going to see a de-aged Guinan when the crew inevitably visit in 2024?
Guinan's comments were possibly tongue in cheek and - given the likely one-off nature of her appearance - can easily remain ambiguous (as is befitting of her character).
They didn't need an explanation, but after all the crying about Data last year.............

I thought it was pretty well done. A lot better than CGI Leia in Rogue One, for example. The CGI Q was pretty awful. The sad part is, John de Lancie has aged so well they didn't need to bother with CGI or with him magically making himself "old." They could have just died his hair and used conventional make-up effects to make him look fairly close to his old self. It wouldn't have been perfect, but it would have been good enough and certainly leagues better than how Data/Spiner looked in Season 1.
And it would have been cool to see at least a quasi-ageless Q. Otherwise, they should have gone with comically-aged Q, hearing trumpet and all, as he appeared in "All Good Things."
