Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Prodigy and Picard are doing some legacy stuff for Voyager. But what about Deep Space Nine?
Prodigy is kind of a sequel to Voyager
Picard is a sequel to The Next Generation
Strange New Worlds is a prequel, but looks like it will very much be TOS for the 2020s

And there has been many DS9 races in DSC but it seems to have 'middle child syndrome' at the minute.

Just leaves Enterprise. Would be happy for a BIRTH OF THE FEDERATION series with Archer, T'Pol, if anything to tie up loose ends?

The simple presence of Sanctuary District posters in 2020s L.A. is a DS9 reference but I'd definitely enjoy direct dialogue callbacks to the Bell Riots of 2024 and how that decade was a pivotal chapter in 21st century Earth history.

It would be amusing to see a TV in the background showing a clip from DS9. You have to figure that they didn't choose 2024 randomly.

Though we don't know when in 2024 they are yet. The Bell Riots started September 1st

Judging from the weather in LA, we can pin it down to sometime between 01 Jan 2024 to 31 Dec 2024.

Yes on being more excited for Picard BUT even still excited for SNW above all. I typically have time for one show in the morning before work. I’ll likely watch the Picard premiere that morning, but for those last few weeks when Picard and Disco are dropping simultaneously, it’ll be interesting to see who watches what when after the first week.

Yeah, that first episode of Picard will determine my priority. But I will watch that before the DISCO episode that week.

Well, in Canada, Discovery airs on TV at 10PM local on Thursdays and hits VOD 24 hours later.

I could be mistaken, but I think Picard hits VOD Thursday morning. So, I'll have Picard in the morning, and Discovery at tonight.

Edit: I was wrong, both air on TV before goin to VOD

The interesting thing that jumped out at me there is that he said they took a tour of the sets for season 2 and 3 this week. It implies there are some new sets for season 2 that are going to stick around.

It makes sense that some sets remained the same. Sir Patrick said that he had only one night of sleep between shooting seasons 2 and 3. So, it stands to reason that they kept some of the sets to make this kind of shooting schedule possible. Seasons 2 and 3 are probably more like one long season plot-wise, at least that’s the impression I keep getting when I read new interviews. :)
