No Man's Sky

Been getting into this a few hours here and there since Christmas.
For now, all I will say is what I find the best aspect of this game is the relatively seamless exploration. One of the greatest things is being able to fly up on an explored planet, and rather than hit a landing routine, actually fly down through the clouds, and see its landscape appear before you. The sense of scale is pretty good.
It's great way to get lost in space.

Grinding away. Traded to a A explorer, and will be reseting the simulation when I get to the galactic center.
So I'm going to start No Man's Sky. I thought about it today while at work, and will install/update it after dinner when my wife goes to the gym. Probably wont get to play til tomorrow.
I actually have a disc from from when I bought the game, what, two, three years ago? but never got around to playing (I assume it's still the same game sans updates?) The reason I got thinking about No Man's Sky, was I was thinking about firing up Subnautica again--which I completed, and loved--but thought I would go for something new.

There is a major update coming soon, AFAIR.
May give up. Took the update and needed a video driver update. Causes occasional blank frame. Some keys are not working and I cannot reap them. I will wait until another patch for this patch is available and decide then.
If I could get the analysis visor working to scan objects, I would resume playing.
I just did the reset. I cannot find my ship. Do I need to pick a specfic new universe to keep my ship? It did not go through the final portal.
It's been quite a few months since I played it. From what I recall you get at least the ship you were in when you wind up in the new galaxy, though it's wrecked and will require repair.
There have been a lot of updates though, so I could be wrong.
I could not find my ship before I succumbed to the elements. Will have to do the reset again and look harder. I would think it should be relatively close, as your equipment has major damage.
Could not find my ship until I repaired the analysis visor and scanner. Patchedby suit and ship just enough to get to the space station.

Honestly once I moved to the new galaxy and built a new superbase I just wasn't interested in exploring anymore. I just didn't feel like there was enough different out there to keep going. If I did, I probably would do a new game, also.
When they added the requirement to power bases it sort of killed the game for me. I've been from the beginning of the game through all the goals and missions and all that stuff, twice now, and what I really liked doing was just building nice little pretty bases on desert or snowy planets. I'm afraid No Man's Sky has passed me by. Which is to bad, I really enjoyed the base building.
SAME. I re-installed the game a little while ago and was rather pleased by all the changes (I was one of those unlucky folks who bought it on launch day), but then they added this power thingy and I had absolutely zero idea as to what to do and how to get everything running. I even had to watch Youtube tutorials to get the automatic doors working - the guy who made the tutorial was an electrician and he said even HE had trouble figuring it all out. That says it all, really... I've uninstalled the game again by now because the whole "power your base" killed all the fun for me since I'm the type who just flies around and builds small bases when he sees a nice little shiny place, and now that I have to establish an entire power grid just to get the automatic doors working... nah thanks. It might be realistic, yes, but it's also incredibly tedious.
Have not gotten back to it after jumping to a new Galaxy.
Is it going to be something you have to play on the cloud?
If it doesn't connect to the rest of the No Man's Sky galaxies, it's hard to see the point. Not that NMS HAS a point, but still..
