That sounds unpleasant and awkward for both of you.
That reminds me of something that I learned about a while back, apparently with male horses sheath cleaning is a thing you have to do, and um... yeah.... no thank you.

    Thank you :)

I would say I enjoy taking care of him but that would be weird to say in this context. Hahaha

    Definitely no enjoyment involved there.
It’s awkward every time…I try to be very “mommy” about it to make it more comfortable for us both. I talk to him like a baby and say “it’s ok Fred it’s just like when we go to see Mr. Vet.” After the process is done he gets a treat.

I just feel bad because sometimes fibers from the blankets get stuck on it and then I have to rip them off as gently as possible but it must be a lot of pain for him. :(

Met a human Gracie this weekend , who I'll probably run into on a semi-regular basis, so now I have to be sure I specify which Gracie I'm talking about.

(Dog) Gracie stole one of two vegetarian hamburgers I cooked myself for dinner last night. She's a counter surfer, and I forgot to move the plate it was on over to the top of the microwave. The worst part is, when I went to tell my mom, I realized halfway down the hall that I forgot to move it again, and when I went back she had her front feet up on the counter and going for the second one. I caught her before she was able to that one, and she got down as soon as I yelled her at. As you can image, I remembered to move the plate that time.

They can be real buggers like that.

mum had more than one lunch disappear like that when getting ready for work.

One advantage of the Shih-Tzu/Maltese-X over the rottie - she's not at counter height.

Yeah, she does this kind of thing a lot, but usually it's just a couple bites of whatever I had, she doesn't usually get ahold of something as big as a whole burger.
    That's actually kind of impressive.

Not really, when she has American Staffordshire Terrier and Pit bull in the mix, among other breeds

Update: It seems they updated Riley's ancestry results. Apparently, she's 2% Beagle.

So, she's related to Finn! :guffaw:

I really wish the hair fuzz on Finn's old harness, next to Finn's ashes still has viable DNA so I could do the DNA test. He has been gone for three years now, so it would be awesome.

Several months ago, infact probably at least two years ago, I documented on here about my permanent move to Spain, and the process I was going through. I also said that my partner and I already had an imaginary Galgo, a Galgo that didn't yet exist, and he was going to be black and male, and go by the name of Cortes.
Well a few months ago we finally got down to trying to adopt a Galgo, with no success, until my Spanish friend heard of a litter of puppies born outside town.
Anyway, we expressed an interest in one, asked for a male, and hoped for the best.
A little puppy was delivered to my friends house, no charge, just a puppy looking for a home, but it wasn't a male, ha ha, and it wasn't a black dog, its officially cinnamon, so as the great Neil Young sang about, I also have a Cinnamon Girl.
We obviously couldn't call her Cortes, so we decided on Condesa.
    I'd like to introduce her to you. . . . . . . .

Above pics taken at two months old
It became apparent that all was not well, she had severe intestinal trouble, blood in her stool, and a dreadful itch on her skin, which was patchy. We took her to the vet and he wrongly diagnosed a skin infection and we wasted a month dealing with this. She actually had dog scabies which duly transferred to myself and my partner, its cured now but it wasn't pleasant for her or us.

Then, another disaster, she contacted Parvovirus and was at death's door for three days, but after a week in hospital she came home, weak and devastated by the virus, but she's a fighter.

Two months later she's still feisty, still thriving after the above picture, which is heartbreaking

Now at five months, growing by the day

She's even bigger after that pic was taken
On Feb 16th she is six months old, and it's as if she's always been here
She is stubborn, intelligent, feisty, full of energy and the desire to run at full pelt
Forever eating, forever looking for our love, sometimes downright naughty and voiciferous
    But she's our girl
