I went to the confirmed scoops page. Harrison Ford has been confirmed to return to Star Wars? WHERE?!? The Sun? A tabloid? Maybe it’ll happen and I’ll eat my words but at the moment, that confirms nothing.

Of all the topics to make a prequel about, or even fabricate a rumor about a prequel, why the USS Republic of all things. Even I think that's one damn obscure ship.

Eh, were I to do a prequel about Kirk, I'd set it on the Farragut or maybe some never before heard of ship he commanded before the Enterprise. I don't think I've ever discussed the Republic on this forum prior to now. I don't even remember the last time I even thought of it.

So, it’ll basically be the early, non-produced version of Enterprise where a certain number of episodes leads to the launch of the ship? Yeah, the idea wasn’t compelling enough for Paramount in 2001. Not sure it would be compelling for CBS Studios now.
