Spoilers Book of Boba Fett [Spoiler Discussion]

The astromech socket is the perfect place for bounties or passengers who aren't too tall or wide or both.

Mando won't have that ship forever but it is a way to tell stories and show space fights from a fresh perspective.

I doubt it. Most depictions of The Wheel show it to be a more traditional sized and shaped 2001 style ring station with a central core, not a megastructure built around a neutron star.

Personally, it's been fun how you can gauge a person's age (and sci-fi/theoretical space engineering literacy) based solely on their reaction to this thing. The millennials and younger are all convinced it's a Halo reference, because of course Jon Favreau played tons of Halo as a young teen in the 70's & 80's!

I'm behind again... The reference to the Witches of Dathomir in Chapter 3 stood out to me. Is this the first time they've been mentioned in the new canon? I haven't kept up on any of the Disney-era novels or comic books.

Edit: Now that I think about it, they did feature in the Clone Wars, which has basically been accepted as part of the new canon, right?

Is it sad that I think this one was the BEST episode of the Book of Boba Fett?

IDK - there's just something about the way they treat that character and his situation that grabs me and makes me want to see S3 of The Mandalorian more than I really care about the rest of this first season of Book Of Boba Fett. This basically WAS the first episode of The Mandalorian S3 and it was good.

I enjoyed everything from his rejoining a clan, to the fact he's NOT really trained in the use of the Dark Saber yet, but was still able to keep it, and that he still hasn't lost his particular sense of personal honor. And yeah, small universe syndrome be damned in that I liked the whole exchange/run in with the two X-Wing pilots. I also like the setup that he wants to find and reconnect with baby Yoda.

Really looking forward to/can't wait for S3 now.

Clone Wars was always canon, as were the movies. It's only since the Disney buyout that other media has been included too.

Off the top of my head I think this is the first time the Witches themselves have been mentioned in live action, though Dathomir itself was namedropped by Maul in 'Solo'. Both the planet, the Witches and the Nightbrothers also featured significantly in the 'Jedi: Fallen Order' video game, and showed up in an episode of Rebels. Indeed the very episode where the Darksaber was recovered from Maul's horde before it was eventually gifted to Bo Katan.

So no, it's far from the first canon mention of The Witches of Dathomir. Indeed, they've been far more developed in canon than they ever were in the EU. All this does is reintroduce the concept of them riding Rancors, which has yet to be shown.

Just squish them into the space where the manifold exhaust used to be.

Not sad, I think it was intentional that this episode broke open the show for the last two eps. We were led to expect a linear plot progression and then they hit us with this ep. Wizard.

Personally I've been subconsciously watching the show as The Mandalorian 2.5. It's filling in the gaps that led to Boba appearing as quite a different character than we knew. I think that Din is at a personal crossroads and he needs to reconcile Boba's, Bo-Katan's, and other's rejection of The Way with the creed he has devoted himself to. As such, joining Boba in this endeavor puts his POV of the "two Ways" front and centre. He also has to reconcile Grogu both as his child and as a Jedi letting go of attachments. Din may end up the leader of all Mandalorians because he has lived both Ways and can bring them together.

Both Din and Boba are on a journey of change and I'm feeling pretty satisfied with the story so far.

Grogu ends up in the astromech port I bet.

Just be careful how much you feed him...

Is it possible that the Naboo Starfighter might have a small section for cargo? Obi-Wan's Starfighter in episode 2 had a little cargo port for spare parts and such which he ejected to try to evade Jango Fett. To my eyes, the Naboo Starfighter seems a little bigger, perhaps it would have a cargo port large enough to hold a Carbonite slab. Of course, his carbon-freezing unit was on the razor crest...

There's nothing like that on the old crosssection, which makes sense honestly since these things weren't intended to go out alone or be expected to have the pilot effect repairs. They're mostly to patrol within a single sector, or occasionally escort the Queen or Senatorial delegation to Coruscant and back, and even then they need to dock with the barge to refuel for the return trip, so they're not supposed to be long range.
Clearing out the old droid socket makes for something of a cargo bay, though I wouldn't expect to be able to fit an average sized human in there . . . not a whole one anyway.

Yeah- and if you’re older than dirt you remember a miniscule plot element from a 1978 comic book.
