Would like to see Enterprise come back…

As a limited series or as a film exclusive on Paramount Plus… assuming they could get Manny Coto to write it, and bring back most (if not all) the cast.

I know it’ll never happen, but I daydream they could get someone as talented and passionate about Star Trek (and Enterprise) as the creators of Cobra Kai are about their show.

I think the crew of the NX-01 really deserve a proper sendoff.

No.
A Romulan War animated series, with the Enterprise cast and Enterprise crew making appearances, but with a big broad focus on multiple ships and characters? Yes.
A Fifth Season comic book series written by Manny Coto and/or Mike Sussman, in the style of the miniarcs they did in Season 4? Yes.
Audiobooks like Doctor Who's Big Finish but made in the style of Siddig El Fadil's DS9 "Alone Together" series, where the only thing to worry about is that the story is good? Yes.

I've always wanted that return of Enterprise and I still think the more Star Trek they make, the more likely it is to happen.

All eyes are on Strange New Worlds, I suppose... as the place it can most naturally spin out of.
The amount of shows the original Star Trek did, which were about cleaning up the mess left for them by a Starfleet from a century earlier... of course they'd connect the dots in a modern revision, as Star Trek Beyond did.

Everyone has moved on from ENT. We will not see it again. And even if we did see it, it would be nothing like what you remember.

If by everybody, you mean some people, or even most people, you are right.

I stated clearly in the OP that I knew it would never happen. It was just wishful thinking.

What I mean is that CBS currently has no interest in bringing ENT back, and the actors have all moved on to other things. They are not sitting around waiting for a phone call from CBS telling them to come back for a sequel.

I'd like to see it rebooted in a version that was true to the original premise: the first human 'warp 5 ship' headed out into the big, bad, scary, empty black, where it would still take weeks or months to reach the systems of the nearest founding Federation members like the Andorians and Tellarites- NOT 4 days to the Klingon homeworld! And no time travel or temporal cold war, either.

Hell, at the end of TMP, even Scotty said it'd take what?- at least that long to get Spock back to Vulcan.

No. ENT of 2001-05 can stay cancelled. It did not draw money and was not as daring of a show as it could have been.

A new show, practically rebranded separate from the B&B era and slightly higher tech than in the original run, would be more appropriate. More of a series of limited run shows along the lines of WandaVison, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Hawkeye. Where the shows are at minimum 6 episodes in length. That way, they can do stories without needing to get the entire cast back together – both main cast and guest stars - and be able to do both live action and animated productions depending on the story. Which can be set in any period, not just after season 4 and DIS, but even between seasons of the shows run (think of the early pocket novels and various ENT short stories which could be adapted into animated fare). Should be manageable for Coto, Sussman and the Reeves-Stevenses, who were the best writers the show had.

No, the ENT cast aren’t sitting around waiting around for a phone call to work on a sequel series. But they’d come back if offers were pitched to them and they liked what they heard. That includes guest spots on SNW, DIS & LD. They came back for Star Trek Day, didn’t they?

Food for though. 20 years after the first season of TOS, the TOS cast made TVH. If history repeats, then the ENT cast should be making something 20 years after the first season of ENT.

Not that I really see the point in pitching any of this. It just feels like I’m yelling into a void at this point and I’m more hyped for the Quantum Leap reboot at this point.

That would also make for an interesting limited run series. With the XCV-330 Enterprise in place of the NX class.

I'm sure CBS will tackle the Romulan Wars some day, if their current rate of Trekkake is to be maintained.

The ENT cast will all be too old by then, tho. Perhaps one or two can pop up in Strange New Worlds.

I wonder why it hasn’t been made canon that the crew was marooned on a planet located in what becomes the Neutral Zone for the entire duration of the war and thus missed the entire thing. Seems to solve the issue of the ENT cast not being a part of it.

At the same time,
Jeffrey Combs did return in Lower Decks.

Maybe an animated Short Trek could feature Shran helping out in the Earth-Romulan War and give an Andorian perspective of the conflict.

I really don't believe there's much of an interest.

If the ENT’s past behaviour of rehashing old episodes is any indication, wouldn’t a limited series reuse the plots for the Kelvin trilogy & DIS S1 anyways?

Why make a plot device canon to solve a problem that doesn't exist for a production that's not being made?

I haven't read the The Beginning script, so if I got it wrong forgive me, but the idea from that of having the NX-01 sitting out the war on Risa is something I hated there and hate to see adapted in any project. Just don't mention the ship. Or mention them but don't see them. Or see the ship but not the crew. "They're out in Sector 4 with General Shran's Taskforce."

Billingsley has told me on more than one occasion that he'd be happy to don the rubber forehead again, but he has absolutely no belief that will ever actually happen.

"When pigs fly" was his exact quote.

Not to get too far out of whack here...but I'd love to see a re-tooling of the original intent of ENT rather than just flat-out bringing the show and characters back.

If they did a series that was all about mankind's first ventures into deep space shortly after the discovery of warp drive, kind of a "Right Stuff" for the 22nd century...that could be really cool.
