Pretty sure he still has it the last time we see him in the battle, but that was where he handed the infinity gauntlet off to T'Challa, so there's a fair amount of time where he's out of sight, including the bombardment, which is a good candidate for when he might have lost it.

Mind you the disposition of the sword was weirdly inconsistent. In it's initial appearance it acts just like a normal, rigid, non-collapsible sword, complete with back scabbard. It stays like that right up until Nat his hanging from the cliff (though weirdly he's not wearing it or the quiver during the "going quantum" scene.) Then when he wakes with the soul stone, both it and his quiver are gone...again. Fast forward to the snap scene and the quiver is back, but no sword or scabbard. Then in the sewer fight, he suddenly pulls the sword out of...somewhere, and now it's the retractable blade we see in the show, which as I mentioned, he has up until the hand-off.

Re the watch - IIRC, Lucky the Pizza Dog took off into the street with it from the auction fight, but then I lost track of it.

What did Lucky get (besides fleas)? Not the sword nor the watch. Jack picked up the sword from the floor during the auction fight. Bro #3 had the watch at the getaway truck, and Lucky did not get that, since Echo later had the watch in her apartment.

I'd have to watch it again to be sure (in fact, hell why not? I'll rewatch later today) but I believe the track suit guy had the watch, Lucky knocked it out of his hand and it landed next to a dumpster. Then it was next seen on Maya's dresser.

ETA: It was pretty quick to find that scene. Lucky bit into his pantleg and he fell. His hands were empty after that when Lucky ran off but it would have been near the truck.

    Well, that sucks.

On the other hand, now I don't feel so bad about forgetting to watch it today like I planned!

just going a few pages back. About Kingpin. In Spiderman the animated series he mentions he is 2% body fat with 350 pounds of muscle. Even Spidey had trouble fighting him.

I'd have left that in. I know it might have spoiled the Kingpin reveal later on but if it was meant as a flashback scene after we see him for the first time then it wouldn't have mattered.

Not to mention everyone had figured he was coming. Surprise reveals are pretty hard to get done these days.

Yeah, they definitely should've left that scene in. Don't care where in the narrative but it should've been left in.

I think it's more a question of where to put it. The show in it's current form doesn't really have a logical place for it to go that doesn't blow the Kingpin reveal. When they filmed it they must not have been sure exactly where in the show's run either that, or this young Echo material was going to fall. Indeed, it's possible all of her backstory flashbacks would originally have fallen after the Fisk reveal, making this the final stinger before jumping back into the story.

So it's weighing how good this individual scene is against how the show is going to structure Echo's character progression. Assuming I'm correct in my suppositions then I think they made the correct choice; spreading Echo's development and showing her motivations earlier just works better. If they held it off until the last few episodes than: 1) the audience is going to spend most of the show not knowing or really caring why this person is so fixated on Ronin, and 2) her final turn would seem too rushed.

Who knows, maybe they'll end up using this material in her solo show?

It is a nice scene but @Reverend does bring up a good point. I think the only way it really would have fit is if it was part of a longer series of flashback's showing their relationship that we got after the reveal.

I had no idea until it was completely spoiled way ahead of time in this thread.

I think people here started speculating on, and anticipating the possibility of, D'onofrio's return the moment Marvel announced that Maya Lopez was going to be a character in the show and that she was getting her own spin-off.
