My son has been suffering with a kidney stone for a few days and he woke me up to drive him to the hospital ER about 3am today. He couldn't stand it anymore so we masked up and entered the dangerous zone. They gave him a CT scan and a bag of IV fluids with some Dilaudid in it and sent him home with a prescription for Motrin and one for morphine. My usual pharmacy had just been robbed and had no morphine left, so I went to another one and it was noon before I could finally get him his meds.
My stomach is still ooky and I still have nausea and no appetite, but today I added shortness of breath, dizzy, light-headed, can barely stand, and already fell once. I went to Urgent Care and they did a COVID rapid test and it came up negative. But they sent me to the ER. Where I now sit.
No, he really isn't. That darn stone isn't out yet. Going to call the Urologist as soon as possible. Even the morphine isn't taking the edge off his pain. I hope you feel better soon! And I sympathize with you for being at the ER. It's bad enough feeling like crap, but the ER makes it all a zillion times worse.
there was a time when that was even worse in europe - when they introduced indoor toilets the kitchen was quite often the one room that had water - kitchens also used to be rather big ... and don't forget our houses are normally stone not wood it was supossed to be an improvement why is it weird? kitchens and bathrooms are usually wall to wall for water lines - are you proposing a third wet room? people live in flats/appartments a lot.
I'm about to make a teriyaki marinade for steak tips which has beer as part of the recipe. The recipe calls for an IPA, but what I have right now is an amber ale I'm kind of saving for beer battered halibut, some hefeweizens and a strong vanilla stout. I'm wondering if the vanilla stout makes sense for steak. Edit: Maybe I should use the amber ale for the steak and the hefeweizen for the halibut.
If your toilet is in your kitchen, I would cook and drink quickly. You only rent bier, one way...or the other.
Just thinking about what I'll be doing on February 2nd and February 22nd of this year, at twenty-two past two. It'll be 2.2.22 2:22 or 22.2.22 2:22. And there's AM and PM to consider. I could even wear a tutu. I'll see myself out.

You know, I saw a person revive an old topic and get hammered for it... funny thing is, they never started a new topic on the subject. And even though I had something to say on the subject, neither did I. I think that most of us will drop our two cents on an existing topic, but we only start a new topic if we think we have something of major significance to say.
One of my favorite things to do when watching a movie or TV show when the actors/actresses or stunt people are the thing like riding motorcyles or horses. Sometimes it's so obvious that it's a stunt person on the far shots and the actor/actress is pretending to do the activity in the close ups that it's actually funny. I can't remember what it was, but there was something I watched recently where a character was riding a horse, but the way the actor/actress was pretending to move with the horse, and the fake horse they were on were so bad it was almost funny. But then there was something else I was watching and I was impressed because the lead actress was actually riding at a full gallop in a chase scene or something like that herself, and that's something you don't really see that often. When it comes to motorcyles, I tend to assume that any time you see the person put on a helmet that completely covers their whole head, it's probably a stunt person.
My granddaughter will be 7 on Feb 2, '22. She's our sweet little ground hog. (and she will undoubtedly wear a tutu, too)

Yeowtch! I hope he gets relief soon! Thank you all for the positive thoughts. The hospital did a real COVID test (the swab up the nose to the brain) and that was negative. They also did *3* CT scans - head, chest, and stomach - one chest x-ray, and, of course, bloodwork. I need to pause here and explain that I have teeny tiny veins that like to roll away and hide. When I had surgery last month, getting the IV in required 2 tries in the left hand and then eventually getting the head nurse to put it in the right hand. So I don't go to the hospital unless I really really really think I need to. This IV had to be further up the arm because of the CT scan dye. The nurse tried and had to stop. A tech wanted to try, but thankfully a tech with an ultrasound machine came in. Even with that, he had "walk the IV in", which took 45 zillion years while I squeezed my hubby's hand and swore a lot at the pain. In the end, they decided I was severely dehydrated, gave me fluids and prescriptions for meds, and sent me home a bit after midnight. My hubby has been pushing gatorade and BART foods on me since we got up Sunday. I'm starting to feel a teeny bit better. There was something on my liver in my one CT scan they want my GP to send me for an ultrasound for. The ER doc didn't seem worried, but... yeah, I'm trying not to think too much about it.
