that's not really a serious finale as we see it now, is it?It's definitely THE worst series finale to date. I honestly like "Turnabout Intruder(TOS)" more than I do it.
That ought to tell you something.

.... but it's not a big preplanned event - they just happened to get cancelledLast episode. Close enough for me.![]()
I like your “biggest insult” vs “worse episode” distinction. Part of why I greet TATV with a shrug is that I stopped watching ENT in early Season 3 after contracting a serious case Trek burnout compounded by law school. I didn’t have the emotional investment to be insulted and I like watching Jonathan Frakes on screen. (I never said it was good, just that I don’t hate it the way that other fans (who all probably far more invested in ENT) doLike I stated "TATV..." is a bigger insult. It's less forgivable. But at least it's not "Shades of Grey" or "Code of Honor."
count me in there - i happened to like enterpriseI like your “biggest insult” vs “worse episode” distinction. the kind of valentine spats colombo is known forYeah, ENT got screwed. First by UPN and then by Berman and Braga's awful idea for a "Valentine" to the fans to wrap everything up in a nice bow.
It wasn't intentional but a slap in the face is still a slap in the face.
there's also the small point about killing off trip - i have no problem with killing off regulars but you don't do that in a series finale unless there's a white whale involved"TATV..." is definitely amongst my Worst Episodes of Trek Ever. And ranks up there in the numbers.
It's kind of amazing how badly TPTB misread their own fandom on this one.
I mean, they truly believed this was a "Valentine to the fans". They did not set out to make the worst finale in Star Trek history.
got a most likely very controversial opinion myself
using the word human instead of terran is kinda racist
reason: each and every species is named after their planet. only terrans are called humans and consider the term terran as derogatory. so what makes us 'deserve' a special name while we call everybody else by the place where they come from / evolved?
as i see it would make a lot more sense to enlarge the term human to include all sentient species (even the bad guys of the week) thusly using the scientific name of homo vulcani sapiens sapiens for vulcans and homo terrae sapiens sapiens for terrans (i'm not sure whether this would be supossed to be a genitivus or another adjective but you get my point)
That bow was made of stale linguine covered in mold.Yeah, ENT got screwed. First by UPN and then by Berman and Braga's awful idea for a "Valentine" to the fans to wrap everything up in a nice bow.
