At least on The Mandalorian, the only time Boba's recognizable face was brought up was when they wanted to break into that Imperial base. And to be fair, an Imperial base where the computers use facial recognition software for security, Boba's face is going to get noticed. Otherwise, to the gen pop of the galaxy, those who know what Clone Troopers look like likely know they age at an advanced rate and the fact Boba doesn't look like he's in his seventies is probably enough to make people shrug the resemblance off as the sort of "everyone has a twin" thing.

    Coming soon from Disney+:

Machete In Space: Rancor Trainer ;)

Loved the they got Danny Trejo as the trainer of Boba Fett's new Rancor beast. I was wondering how they got Trejo, and then I saw in the credits it was directed by Robert Rodriguez.

As for the rest of the episode, I do like that they set up Boba's history with the Pike Syndicate the way they did, and I also like that they are showing him gaining/recruiting paid allies (that type of thing should have been in place for this story setup long before this, but at least they got to it.)

I also do like and hope the two Hutt twins are in effect doing what they've done in the hope that Boba Fett and the Pikes will fight it out to the point that whatever side is left is sufficiently weakened - thus their plan is to 'wait it out' and take out who wins, but we'll see.

So yeah, starting to enjoy it more, but yeah, if these were real well written gangsters, Boba Fett shouldn't have survived this far. Still, Star Wars has always been 1930s style pulp serial science fiction; so best not to think too much about a 'deeper' story.

There's a first time for everything. And even if it doesn't happen, hey, we got Danny Trejo as the new Rancor Keeper! ;)

With all the chase tropes they threw in it does seem as if it was meant to be humorous at least. And they are winding through the streets and only have to be as fast as the goofy majordomo is going and really where's he going to go? I'm coming around a little bit on it but it's jarring first time through.

Judging by the movies he does nowadays I don't think it's too hard. Maybe a couple of hundred dollars and a couple tacos from his restaurant. :)

It's almost like there's two stories, a serious one that has ROTJ Fett crawl out of the Sarlaac broken and built into a new man by the Tuskens, and a funny one where goofy but humbled ROTJ Fett crawls out and makes his way to Mos Espa and bumbles his way up the ladder and gets no respect but they don't quite mesh with each other. Maybe that's why they pulled the plug so abruptly on the Tusken storyline?

I liked this ep: loved the slow-pace speeder chase (reminded me a little of Marty McFly in BTTF). The bikers didn’t bother me, and they were certainly the Tatooine equivalent of ‘Greasers’ / street racers.

I felt like it was Fett giving a chance to his new underlings: letting them step up - and also helps solidify his respect, without having to get his hands dirty in the chase itself.

Personally, I’d love for Hasbro to produce the bike / landspeeder chase sets!

Considering Boba jet packed in promptly at the end of tbe chase odds are he was watching from above to see how his new borgs did with this first opportunity to prove themselves.

Second ep in a row to mention that Tatooine used to have lots of water. I'd think they were hinting at something if we hadn't already seen that in 30 years it's still desolate desert.

The Kwisatz Kaderach is yet to be born. Though maybe Boba is Lisan al Gaib?

I watched the first episode last night, will have to watch it again as I sort of dozed off during part of it (from fatigue not the show itself.)

Though... Why is Boba Fett a 60-year-old man? Shouldn't he be like 40?

The best line of dialogue in the entire Indiana Jones movie franchise after: "TOP. MEN."

It is pretty wild when you consider that 61 year old Temuera Morrison is playing a 45-ish year old Boba, next to 41 year old Katee Sackhoff playing a character that is at least a decade older than him, with 42 year old Rosario Dawson there as the one playing more or less her actual own age.

Lucas really lucked out when making the PT with Ian McDiarmid, having him aged pretty perfectly into the role after having played Palpatine in RotJ as much older than he'd himself been at the time. Clearly it almost never lines up that well!

Personally I don't need a lot of in-universe explanation to account for it. I mean do we really have a reason why Leia died so young? Or why she looked like someone that had a serious substance abuse problem in her 60's? Or why Obi-Wan morphed from 30 year old Ewan McGregor to 60 year old Alec Guinness in just 19 years? Or how Sebastian Shaw looks nothing at all like either Hayden or Lloyd? (Yes, I know the real reasons, that's the point!)

I mean sure, maybe between the Sarlacc's stomach acids, living out under the suns for months on ends, the lifelong and constant stress of living hand to mouth as a bounty hunter, and the vagaries of time dilation from excessive hyperspace travel, all meant that Boba gained a few subjective years. Maybe the Clan Kryze line has strong genetics, and a life spent keeping herself in peak physical shape and wearing a radiation blocking helmet when out in the sun for most of it means Bo Katan looks very youthful for a woman in her 50's. Does it matter though?

Maybe he just ages a little faster because he's a clone. Not quite human and gestated in a lab by a process that was intended for rapid aging, even if those modifications weren't given to Young Boba.

Like I said, you can come up with all kinds of explanations, but at the end of the day, how much does it even matter? It's a fairy tale. Try not to overthink it! ;)

Also, let's just be clear on one thing; as evidenced by the half-naked wookiee fight, Morrison looks damn good for 61!

The physical appearance has rarely mattered beyond close enough.

Plus a life of living on the edge as a bounty hunter would add some stress lines to your appearance. His Clone DNA plus always looking over your shoulder can't be good for always looking like you're in your thirties.

I'm glad we seem to have moved beyond the flashbacks.
