Things that frustrate us all

I really wish people would pick up after their damn dogs. Now everyone here knows I'm an animal love, but this drives me nuts. I was out on my bike ride yesterday, and there's paved trail I follow, and someone's dog had taken a big ol' shit literally right in the middle of trail, and I had to swerve around it.
But the absolute worst was at one of the parks we go to, it's an open desert area with dirt paths and for a while there was so much dog shit along one side of one of the paths usually take that you almost literally couldn't see the ground through it all. Luckily it got cleaned up a while ago, and hasn't been that bad since, but it was horrible while it was there.
As you can guess, we always pick up after our dogs, or at least we always try our best to pick up as best we can.

So, as I've mentioned several times, I work in the restaurant biz. One thing I've noticed lately is that the after-church folk are EXTREMELY thirsty. I mean, I bring their drinks, before I can even start to take their order, most of them have already sucked them dry. So, I bring refills. Then I start taking orders. By the time I'm done taking orders, they have the second drinks already sucked down. So I bring bread and MORE refills. By the time I've brought their food, I've refilled their drinks no less than five times. And maybe two to three times more before they're done. Why are they so thirsty?

That's not even the annoying part. For the eight to ten drinks I bring them, I get not even ONE "thank you." Hell, even a grunt or "Go fuck yourself" would be better than the no acknowledgement :brickwall:

Not even a "guy nod?" Who the hell doesn't say "Thanks," when the waitstaff brings a drink?

My greatest annoyance right now is that we are now on our THIRD closing date for our new house. We have to move out because the people who bought our house need to move in soon. Our first closing was Dec 23, then Jan 5th and now we're scheduled to close on the 15th. We damn well better be able to move in that weekend or I'm going to lose my shit.

And some fuckwit in our neighborhood is still setting off firecrackers.

I hope you get to move into your new castle soon.

This is sounding familiar. It's not house related, but we do have a move on that was planned for 15th Sept, then 15th December, now looking at the beginning of February:(

Yikes! Good luck.

Thanks - Good luck with yours too.

Ours is a bit of a faff as they hadn't got all the surrender agreements in place until the end of December (though obviously planned for earlier) so because of Covid, we're five people in an office for one hundred - and that won't be changing much as everyone will remain as homeworkers except for between five and ten of us.

We've been pretty much working out of moving crates for the last few months.

One of my frustrations has been the complete end to Adobe Flash support. It didn't even continue as an optional/"legacy" thing. There are many websites that were developed with Flash and never updated to use something else instead. And now they are all broken.
I think the official cutoff date was the end of 2020, but browsers stopped supporting Flash quite a while before that.

.............and...........they moved our closing date AGAIN. We were supposed to close this Saturday. We went in for the "final walkthrough" today, but there were no appliances, no countertops, no water heater, the drywall still had holes in it and there were no sinks or toilets. So...no one could have called and told us this before we drove over there?

Fuck you, DR Horton, fuck you very, very much.

So now we have another new closing date (fourth time's the charm?) of the 21st and please God, I hope the new homeowners will let us stay another week. They are renters who live on the street behind us so maybe their lease isn't up yet---I hope, anyway. My real estate agent is on the case, so maybe I'll hear some news tomorrow.

I saw more used masks on the parking lot pavement than I saw cigarette butts today. What is with some people?

It makes me so angry seeing rubbish in supermarket car parks where people think they can just empty ashtrays and fast food rubbish on the floor for the supermarket staff to clean up. There are bins everywhere in the car park and at the main entrance. Nappies are the worst

That sucks!

I came THIS close to getting catfished. :(

I am such a stupid, pathetic, lonely old man. Of course I'm a prime target for situations like this. But, like a dumbass, I never thought it would happen to me...until it did.

At least I caught myself in time. When she started asking for money...that's the tipping point. I swear I didn't give her any!
