If you went back to 2018 and told everyone about today?

You would first though need to collect some old money in the present to take back to the future because how would even come up with 20 dollars other than to steal it. Which if you get caught opens you up to a big problem what with no ID and maybe the track down your past self. Though it might be better to just bring stuff from the future back and pawn it at pawn shops then use that money to go make low level bets. Of course all of this is time consuming. It might take you a year or more to build up enough money to invest. But still you then need to find a place to live. Hotels will ask for things like a credit card. If you want to drive you need a drivers license. Sooner or later you will need to bring in a guy or form a crew in order to get things done and a crew that won't ask to many questions.
I was watching Good Night Sweet Heart the other night, and the Time Traveler, back in the present, finds appropriate clothing and old currency in a flea market.

Meanwhile on Journeyman, Owen from Grays Anatomy tried to pay for a Taxi with future currency, and 7 years later, the Secret Service finally tracks him down in the present, because that's their job, to track counterfeiters, even if they are hiding in the future.

On 12 Monkeys the tv show, they bought a room in a hotel in the 40s, and they stayed there, "whenever" they were in town before and after the apocalypse.

In 2018 we already had Trump so nothing would seem that unbelievable anymore.

A lot of the answer depends on how credibly you can prove you indeed have been to the future. If you could get on the phone to China and tell them what happens if they let people sell raw meat from creatures with crazy adaptive immune systems, that'd be helpful.

We already had Trump but nobody would buy him becoming President. I don't think people still buy it despite it happening. It was the biggest surprise underdog moment in America history I think.

Trump an underdog? I don't think so. Other than that I get your point.

I would call him a underdog. I know the word is usually associated with good people overcoming the odds but Trump was not what the Republicans wanted. It's not what lots of them even want today. They would prefer their Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz and Mitch McConnell types. I don't think they were wanting populism to take over the party. Many of had to adjust to Trump to just survive but sooner or later Neo-Cons will all but be gone and people like Marjorie Taylor Greene will be what most of the party looks like.

As an outsider looking in, I never would have expected Americans to vote in a joke president. I thought you people had more respect for your democratic institutions than we did. Boy was I wrong.

It's what happens when income inequality isn't addressed and both sides can no longer get along even a little bit.

It's what happens when we have hyper efficient propaganda delivery systems distorting the very nature of truth under control of people who don't care who's in the White House so long as they won't regulate them.

I suppose in the election he technically was an underdog. In the same sense that if Jared Fogle were to run for President, he too would be an underdog.

I think I would prefer Fogle to Trump.

Since I can't believe what happened and I lived thru it, I don't think I could explain it. It sounds like a bad science fiction story, which I know several with these kinds of out comes also movies and tv, didn't think something like that could be real. yeah, just don't know what to expect. I think I would tell the people of 2018, simply to brace themselves some very scary and crazy and very unbelievable changes are heading your way, oh and do yourself a HUGE favor and stock up on T.P., soap, and hand sanitizer, and buy lots of fabric you will need it.
