DC's "Naomi" coming to CW from Ava Duvernay

Since Crisis everyone on Earth Prime in the Arrowverse has the perception that the Multiverse no exists.

Except in Superman & Lois, where characters coming from a parallel Earth is an integral part of the narrative. It was initially unclear whether that happened before or after Crisis, but the season 1 finale should have resolved that decisively.

Saw the new trailer earlier today, and it looks pretty good. This time I got a better look at the thing flying through the air that I thought was Superman before, and this time it was clearer it was someone else, they look either brown or a darker red. It looked like it might have been the same color as the guy they show later's wings, so it might be him.

It pretty clearly is Superman:

One thing I wonder about this show is they keep emphasizing how awesome in every way Naomi is: super-smart, super-cool, super-stylish, super-popular. Not sure what a good idea it is to set your main character up as being basically perfect. Though there could be a method to the madness -- i.e., it denotes Naomi as more-than-human?

Establishing a character as having a too-perfect life at the start of a story is usually a setup for a major fall, or a shocking revelation that nothing is what it seems.
I gather the backstory is that Naomi finds she's not from Earth, or not this Earth, at least. For someone who's used to being popular and content and feeling they fit in perfectly, it would be quite an upheaval to discover she was an outsider who didn't know her true nature or place.

The dialogue in this trailer really emphasizes the Superman connection. Probably good marketing since the show is paired with Superman & Lois and no doubt hopes to retain its audience. Hey, it's working in my case. :techman:

Unfortunately they can't do that in Canada.

Lois and Superman is on CTV Sci-fi (along with Legends) owned by Bell Media while Naomi is going to be on Showcase (along with Batwoman) which is owned by GlobalTV.
