DC's "Naomi" coming to CW from Ava Duvernay

Based on comments I've seen online, the answer is "No".

People either don't know why they should care or are talking smack.

If this doesn't get some proper marketing, it's going to fail, which would suck for the people involved in making it.
It's early. When does this come out? Late 2022? They probably had very little in the can for Fandome.

The clip was pretty clearly from the Pilot, which they filmed in April, so they could easily have showed something less random and with more context based on what they filmed for said Pilot.

Their first attempt at marketing this failed, and they need to do better.

I liked it! It's a scene from the beginning of her story and ties close enough to the comic to get me excited.

Exactly what a first look might do.

(Remember when teaser trailers just revealed a title logo and release date? At least this was something!)

Hi, I see you're new to the business. I'll happily inform you that, contrary to your beliefs, there's a pretty good chance the marketing of Naomi didn't stop with what you just saw. I mean... I'm 12% positive on that.

The general public has zero idea what a dc fandome is, let alone people with slightly more interest in these things anyways. This wasn't for them. They'll get proper marketing. You'll see.

So is her ability is that she collapses when she is near Superman?

It's becoming an ongoing gag in the new Justice League series. Everyone talks about what a mega power she is. Practically every issue has a line to this effect. But we have never really seen her do much except fly and glow. I am trying to remember what we saw her do in the original series or in her appearances in Action Comics, but in JL there are scenes where she is about to cut loose and use her megapower....and then something happens and she doesn't need to any longer.

Is there just going to be a blurry Superman like in the first season of Supergirl.
I'm not sure whether or not this is going to be set on Earth Prime in the Arrowverse, but if it is with Coronavirus perhaps they didn't want to risk bringing Tyler Hoechlin down from Vancouver to Atlanta just for a cameo?

As a Superman partisan, I'm very intrigued by how central he is to the series premise as described in that article. There was discussion uptopic about how Superman-connected the comic was or wasn't, but it sounds like the show is really leaning into and expanding that character link.

I'm still wondering if this is in the Arrowverse or not. It could be confusing to have two Superman-related shows on the same network in different continuities, but they've featured John Wesley Shipp's Jay Garrick on Stargirl's Earth-2, so I guess it's not out of the question. Still, I'm hoping it is Arrowverse, and that we might get some crossovers with Superman & Lois.
