Spoilers Just Started Watching Yellowstone

JD

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
I've been hearing about this show for a while, so I finally decided to check it out today while Paramount Network is doing a big marathon, and I can see why people love it so much it's great. I watched the first 3 episodes and I'm hooked. I think I'm going to have to buy this on Blu-Ray.
The best thing about it is the characters and the cast, they are all really interesting, and the performances are outstanding.
There are some pretty great twists and turns in the plot.
Random Thoughts:
Poor Kayce, he just seems to the have the worst luck, first he gets stuck between the Native American's and his family, then there's the whole thing with his brother and brother in law, then he stumbles across the kidnapped girl, his sister in commits suicide while he's right outside her house, and then he leaved his son with his father and he falls in the river.
Damn, that flashback at the beginning of episode 3 definitely does a lot to explain why Beth is the way she is. Something like that would definitely do some serious psychological damage to a person.

I just started watching Yellowstone too and am already up to episode 9 of season one. I'm really liking it. LIke Jayson said, it kind of reminds me of a redneck Succession mixed with Sons of Anarchy. I love how crazy Beth is and her interactions with Jamie.

If you're buying them new, the special editions that came out in November are a better deal than the regular releases. They're probably the same discs in a new package, but savings are savings.

Yeah, I saw those on Amazon, the designs are pretty cool, but now I'm debating if I want to go the digital route instead. If I go for the discs, it will probably be those versions.

Target has a buy 2, get 1 free sale that ends today. Yellowstone is part of the sale, both the original and repackaged seasons.

I ended up finishing all four seasons in about two weeks, now I'm waiting on season five :)

I also am already caught up on 1883, which is a damn good show too. It kind of reminds me of the old computer game The Oregon Trail crossed with Red Dead Redemption II. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are better actors than I would have thought. In fact, Tim McGraw would make an excellent live action Arthur Morgan if they were to do a RDR movie.

I've only seen Yellowstone pilot. I've been watching 1883. Yeah McGraw and Hill has been great in it.

I'm not willing to add another streaming, for Peacock at this time but I'd like to binge Yellowstone as well. Maybe when I'm not taking classes.

Sometimes I love Beth. Sometimes I want her to die. Guess it’s good writing and good active, but damn she’s over the top lately.

I got into Yellowstone a few months ago, very good show, A- level. It is a lot like Western Succession.

Monica is the show’s O’Brien. God damn the writers torture her.

I finally started watching this about a month back. About midway through season 2 and loving it. Was a big fan of Taylor Sheridan anyway but this just cemented that. He does neo westerns so well (Hell or High Water remains one of my top ten films of this century).

I love that everyone is fucked up, and I'm not sure anyone is that likeable (which is fine) except (so far at least) maybe Monica and Jimmy (the spiritual successor to Justified's Dewey Crowe in many ways).

Costner is great but hell Reilly is amazing! And it's always nice to see Gil Birmingham.

REALLY looking forward to 1923.....I came at this from 1883, which I enjoyed, then binged Yellowstone over the past month or so.....Loved it all so far.

I've watched a few episode, but it hasn't hooked me. I am looking forward to 1923 though, just based on the cast.

I watched a few episodes of this season. Geez, what a toxic family. I don't know why Jamie (apparently adopted) is staying around.

I forgot about this thread. I haven't seen all of the show yet, I've been catching a few episodes a time when they do marathons and have made it up to the first episode of Season 2. The problem I've run into now is that the last couple times they've done marathons, they've shown the next episodes I haven't seen yet after I went to bed. My next streaming service is going to be Peacock, so I'll at least watch the rest of season 2 when I sign up.

1923 looks to be starting pretty strong and holy crap that cast is PACKED

Roughly midway through S4, I'm glad they've finally explained just why Beth hates Jamie quite so much. Hopefully once I'm up to speed with the parent show I'll watch 1883 and 1923!
