Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Ouch. That's one advantage to living in the desert, we don't have to deal icy roads.
Luckily neither of got hurt, but I once I fell after helping my mom up, we both decided to turn around.

At the age of 38 learning to cook raw meat on the stove for the first time. Used a chicken breast with salt, pepper, thyme, oregano, paprika and cumin. Also made a broccoli and chicken sausage with chicken broth, tomato sauce, sour cream, parmasean cheese and coriander. Maybe the tastiest meal I've ever made for myself.

I did have to put it back on the stove after I took a bite because it wasn't as fully cooked as I thought. I did cut into it to check, but probably cut too close to the edge. Hopefully whatever tiny bit of undercooked meat I may have got in the first bite won't be a problem.

Just looked up this. Star Wars if it were in a high school.

I love seeing different media in other time periods and that sort of thing.

I'm wondering about what if each Star Trek series (and films) was a person, how you describe them. I imagined TMP as this really laid back person, DS9 I just imagined carrying a lot of weapons and kinda sarcastic and grim, Kelvin films person is hyperactive, although I think they would get on well with Discovery person. TNG would start off as a big dork and then chill out. TOS I think would start off confident and cool and then everything starts falling apart around them.

Buy a food thermometer, check the temp in the center of the thickest section, if you temp out at 165 F w/ poultry you are good to go. Bon appetite.

No problems yet, but the dose could feasibly be small enough to take longer to express itself. It had been frozen for a few days which would keep the growth in check.

Marketing is an odd profession.

I read an article today on the new vertically-oriented credit cards. It was touted that the change would make these cards "faster and easier to use". It is literally the same shape, and the same dimensions, but the text is written on the card so that it is right-side up if you hold it vertically, rather than horizontally. The card is still inserted or tapped the same way it always was. There is no way that the orientation of the text should make its use any "faster" or "easier".

Another stinkbug has appeared out of nowhere to taunt me. My son and I went into the next room, and when we came back, there was a brown stinkbug sitting on a pile of tissues on the arm of my chair! They always sit on something that contrasts with their color so I can see them. If it had sat on my chair, which is brown, I wouldn't have noticed it (my eyesight is pretty poor), but NOOO! It wanted me to see it! This is the 3rd stinkbug in 3 months that has appeared near my chair on a white background, waving its antennae at me. Where are they coming from? It's snowing outside!

Sounds like a bit of a blessing though? If it was on your chair and you didn't see it, you could have sat on it... which wouldn't have been a pleasant outcome with a stinkbug! :ack:

^It's quite possible you were actually in their presence. They don't always make a stink. Lot of folks encounter them without realizing they were stink bugs.

We've seen bungs we think were stink bugs around here, but we never pissed them off enough to know sure. When they saw us they lifted their butts up in the air, so we assumed they were getting ready to release their stink if we messed with them.

Came across a listing on Zillow that kept the address undisclosed, which happens every now and then. However, the listing allowed for you to look at the house from street level, which tells you the name of the street, plus you can see the address on the mailbox. So why was it undisclosed?

I have become a bug magnet! Last night I went into the bathroom and happened to glance into the mirror and saw something dark in my hair. I thought at first it was part of the scab from my cancer surgery but no, it was a ladybug. I didn't feel it because that part of my head is still numb from the injection in my scalp before the surgery. Yes, I'm still a numbskull for about 6 months according to the surgeon. What is with the bugs!? I guess a ladybug is a step up from a stinkbug, but stay out of my hair!

Can anyone recommend a good vegetarian ground "beef" that would work for Hamburger Helper? I love Hamburger Helper, but I gave up meat, so now I'm trying to find something to replace it with. I already tried the Beyond Grounds and the Morning Star grounds, and neither of them worked. The Beyond was good, but it had a ton of spices on it that just didn't go well with the Hamburger Helper, and I just tried the Morning Star and found it disgusting before it went anywhere near the HH.
