DS9 films: your vision?

I became an SF fan before TOS.
I consider DS9 to be the best Trek. This is largely because it was stolen from Babylon 5.
I am not greatly impressed by any of the Star Trek movies but First Contact & Voyage Home are the best of the bunch though I have been ignoring Star Trek since 2009.
I have suggested a new series derived from DS9 on multiple web sites. Rebels from the Mirror Universe try to steal 4 starships during a conference with the Dominion at the station. 3 ships go across but the 4th explodes during the transition due to fighting with the crew. This creates a barrier between the universes that will take centuries to dissipate.
So 3 crews are trapped in a known region of space but the cultures are all different and they must try to survive. Start a Mirror Federation?
How many Star Trek fans read many SF novels other than Trek? Movies and TV shows must attract big audiences to pay for themselves.

Well, yes, outside of a massive crowd-funded séance, I don't think we'll be getting Rene Auberjonois to provide the voice of Odo any time soon.
He never reversed his statement. Behr reports that Brooks called him up around 2012 asking if it would be possible to films more DS9.

I've read that, at one point, "He has also made it clear that he has no intention to reprise his role despite Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew, and Scott Bakula all agreeing to return to the franchise." If that was never the case, oh well; this could be bunk or simply a misinterpretation/exaggeration.
My post should have said 2012, not 2019. Sorry for the confusion.
If I were doing a DS9 movie, obviously one thing that would happen is that Sisko would return.
I wish first contact was a crossover between DS9 and TNG. I'd have loved to see Sisko and Picard play off each other as they're both severely emotionally affected by the situation
He never painted another ceiling, but his next large fresco was The Conversion of Saul in the Pauline Chapel (just a couple doors down from the Sistine). But that (and another fresco in the Sistine) was 30 years later, and he mostly focused on statues again (his most famous in that period being the statue of Moses) and buildings (the Tomb of Pope Julius) in between.
Anyway, a DS9 movie would probably have to be post-1998 (end of series), but pre-Nemesis (2002), since Nemesis destroyed the idea of Star Trek movies for awhile. I think a Generations-style crossover movie would be best, with Picard "passing the baton" to Sisko. Of course, Sisko would require rescue and explanation for the end of DS9, but having the Enterprise involved, setting it on Deep Space 9, and bringing back the core cast seems prudent. Maybe get a bit of Voyager there too.
We can bring back that lost armada from the Dominion War, or maybe an old enemy of Bajor/the Prophets. Whatever. The point is, they need Sisko for some reason to fight these guys, or at least the Prophets, and Picard's the guy sent in (with the Enterprise-E?) to rescue him. Toss in O'Brien and Worf on leave to help out and the DS9 crew under Kira on the Defiant, which leads the Enterprise and Voyager (and others) into battle against the lost fleet/ancient armada.
And, have a good story about Sisko reuniting with his family and probably retiring properly after all is done to a small farm on Bajor. Maybe have Bajor's accession to the Federation be the tail-end of the movie. Maybe some good scenes of unsure animosity and, ultimately, understanding between Picard and Sisko of they team up together for some time.
Kirk was rescued by TNG folks. Maybe I wasn't clear that the DS9 guys (and mostly Sisko) would take center stage and be the ones to defeat the bad guys in the end.
I'm not reading this entire thread but I'm just saying, as a huge Niner that still thinks it's Star Trek's most shining hour.....
Never make a DS9 movie. What TrekLit did was awesome and I love it but any sequel made for either the silver screen or even tv/streaming would need to appeal to a bigger crowd of ST fans and that's not what DS9 is.

Don ‘t know about a movie, but a novel or graphic novel that resumes the DS9 saga some 10-15 years later is something I have been scripting in my head.
