    “I’m a really good lawyer.” :)

Very enjoyable movie. Easily the best out of the new crop. Seeing the Spider-Men interact was hilarious. Maguire hasn’t aged a day. If anything, Sony should make a Spider-Men movie with Garfield and Maguire. They were really good together.
My only nitpicks I had was not using Electro’s theme more (I think we had a few notes only) and I would have liked the post credit scene to show Maguire and/Or Garfield setting back into their own universe. They were surprisingly subtle on where they are now with Maguire. I kept trying to see if he had a ring on.
The spell seemed overly harsh here. In the comics they just forgot he was Spider-Man but here they have forgotten Parker completely. Strange choice to do with the character but it might be interesting. Does that mean there is no record of him in the MCU now? He’ll find it hard to go to Uni now.

Apologies. I’m sure the mods will merge them.
I didn’t see the other one.

Another thing I would have had was to have another villain that wasn’t connected to the other two Spuder-Men. They kept saying about the infinite multiverse but only showed two universes.
If I was to do this, I would have picked a villain from the actual Earth-616 comics. Would be a cool way to connect THE Spider-Man universe to it.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. And not just for the obvious reasons.

Don't get me wrong, loved the fan-service and hats off to them for coordinating Vincent and Charlie's returns so closely.

But what really made it special was the realisation that we'd all been conned. They hadn't skipped Spider-Man's origin this time round it had just being playing out very, very slowly.

So we end the film with, finally, the real Spider-Man; a friendless loser in a homemade costume (that could have stepped straight out of the comics) who's still out there helping people because, because...

Damn. If only there was a short pithy phrase that summed up why Peter does what he does.;)

Two things that made me laugh.

After all the speculation that there was something up with Strange they cut out Wong telling him not to cast the spell and his wink to Peter.

The audience at my screening must have been hard-core as everyone spotted the moment that matched up with the leaked photos that people went to such great lengths to prove were "fake".

The only time people actually booed the movie in the screen I was in was when Eddie Brock disappeared. I think people wanted him to face Spidey.

It did seem like a lot of work just to get a blob of symbiote into the MCU. I'm guessing that scene was shot by Andy Serkis.

The Venom appearance doesn’t make much sense since Strange said that only people who knew Parker was Spider-Man were coming through. Eddie doesn’t know Parker is Spider-Man. He doesn’t even know Spider-Man. :)

Remember, WE are Venom. There are two entities there.

Eddie doesn't know Spider-Man, or Parker.

The symbiote might, however. In the comics, the Klyntar are capable of sharing a hive mind. It would be relatively easy to handwave away some means by which the different symbiote bonding with Tobey in SM3 allows Hardy's to know that Peter Parker is Spider-Man.

I like that they kept the thread going of Maguire being a ladies man. Ned’s mother was really taken with him. :)

Wong being the Socerer Supreme as well. That’s a big thing to just brush over.

That was brilliant!! And not just with the fan service will the Spider-Men and their villains, or when the really good lawyer Matt Murdoch showed up. The film had emotional stakes as well, with poor May, and of course, the end where Peter asks for the memory wipe. :(

On that note, poor Happy. Will he ever actually be happy?

Strange getting all pissy because Wong had been made Sorcerer Supreme during his disappearance after Thanos, was so funny.

Peter trying to help the villains be better people was all kinds of good, even if it ultimately cost him May.

Strange chasing Peter through the city after the failed spell was hilarious and really cool. "This is why I never had kids!" :D

Spoiler for Venom: Let There Be Carnage
In a post-credit scene in LTBC, Venom shows Eddie the extent of his power by slipping through universes. They end up in front of a tv which is showing the JJJ broadcast from Far From Home. So they’re in the MCU thanks to Venom, not Strange.

Loved this film and so did my girls (the eldest is a bit of a Marvel fan girl, the youngest less so). The scene where Garfield appeared was the first time I’ve ever seen & heard claps and cheers from a Belfast audience (nope, not even when Cap said “avengers assemble!”), while the second time was when Maguire appeared. It was great to see them again, they really slipped into the role(s?) effortlessly.

Some big shocks there amid the hoped-for appearances. I should’ve known the “with great power” spiel didn’t bode well for that character. And I briefly thought that they’d actually killed
    Toby Spider-Man, a la Into the Spider-verse.

Please let there be a fourth in this series!

Interesting that Ned stopped looking for alt-Spiders after just Andrew amd Tobey. How did he know there were only two?

And all the villains were taken (for some reason) from the moment before their deaths (except Flint, natch) ...does that mean **GASP** that Andrew and Tobey die when they get back? Dark! ;)

...Loved the movie, by the way.

Well I thought that was pretty amazing, sensational, spectacular, albeit a spectacular all you can eat buffet of empty calories.

But sometimes a mixed grill is just why you want.

The first act is brilliant, very reminiscent of Back in Black and One More Day, in a good way. Showing Peter’s life completely falling apart as only Peter’s life can. All leading very logically and emotionally to the ask of Strange for help.

We all have bad days and we’ve all had days at work where everyone is having a bad day at the same time. This is that film for superheroes.

I love that Strange calls back to what Peter should have done after it’s all gone wrong. I mean the film is at least refreshingly honest in hold lampshades up against its plot holes and flaws.

As soon as May said that line me and my son turned to each other and said “She’s dead”

I really thought for a minute they’d reference Oc’s affection for May with these two.

The cheers that rang out for Cox and Garfield and Maguire were incredible. I love it when that happens in a cinema. Normally UK audiences are too reserved for such things, so I really love it when that happens.

I didn’t understand why Sandman went along with Electro after he was being so reasonable in the 20 minutes leading up to that.

The Lab scene I think made it for me. Tobey didn’t really get loads to do and I felt that Tom and Andrew really ruled the three Spideys scene.

When the sky started cracking at the end, I really thought we were going to get a quick 3 minute flurry of a shed load of extra dimensional villains and a reciprocal flurry of Spideys (I mean how funny would it have been to have had Cameron’s Spider-Leo and Arnie’s Oc as a quick cameo?). So I was a little let down that that didn’t happen (but it was a bit of an unrealistic hope).

I really hope that the three Spideys each get a cameo in Across the Spider-Verse.

So, yeah, not one to over think but just enjoy stuffing your face with it.

Both my kids said it was their film of the year (my son said it’s a tie between this and Ghostbusters Afterlife, so you’ve made my boy very happy, Sony).

I especially like where it left Peter
Penniless, destitute, alone. As only the Parker luck would land him.

No more “next Iron Man” or bottomless wallet and endless mentors. Bottom of the barrel studio apartment in the city with a police scanner and a home made costume.

Really sets up another trilogy, should Holland re-sign.

I also have a fan-boy BS theory about one aspect of the first end credits scene

Everyone knows Topher Grace’s Venom was ¤¤¤¤, so you’d naturally avoid bringing him in, even though his Brock obviously knew Peter was Spidey.

But, my theory is that that Brock did get pulled in, along with Sandman (hey, maybe there was a confused James Franco and Dane DeHaan eating pie in a coffee shop somewhere too), and when Eddie/Venom is trying out his previously unrevealed powers at the end of Let There be Carnage, it coincides that they do it at the exact same time as the spell and it connects the two alternate versions of the same symbiont and pulls Hardy’s Venom over as well. These two (or four) just never get involved in the battle because The Two Harrys are eating pie together, TopherVenom apparated inside a locked vault or other secure location and is just very confused and HardyVenom decided to drink the whole time.

I thought it was shit and cause I'd never seen the Garfield movies, I didn't get half of what he said. It was so melodramatic and seemed to be realiant on you being nostalgic. I genuinely preferred the other two. Dafoe and Mollina killed it though, which was nice. Also in the UK, I almost died of embarrassment cause people were clapping and cheering.

They can’t leave the Garfield Spider-Man like that. Looks like he still hasn’t found his MJ and has gone to a very dark place. That would have been a interesting Spidey movie to see. A more Batman like one.
I thought the scene where he rescued Michelle and got emotional about it was very well done. It might look weird if you don’t know the context but if you do, it makes a lot of sense.
Anyone else check to see if Maguire was wearing a wedding ring? I didn’t see one. They were being very vague about what he’s been up to since spider man 3.

So if superheroes join Fathers For Justice, do they dress up as civilians and stand on motorway bridges etc?
