Kind of a transitional episode but I still enjoyed it. The action scene early on was fun, both kind of poking fun at all of Hawkeye's various trick arrows while also coming up with some really cool uses for them.

I'm admittedly not very familiar with the Echo character but she seems very interesting, and Alaqua Cox was great in this episode. (Apparently this was her first professional acting gig? Impressive.) I'm even more excited about the character now that I know about her Daredevil and Kingpin conncections.

It would be interesting if it was Kate's soon to be stepdad, but conventional wisdom is it's Kingpin. I have watched enough Criminal Intent to know what he sounds like. If it's a misdirect it's a good one. I liked this episode. They have great rapport. She is just a gem. Can't believe it's half over and no Yelena yet. Next ep should have some decent comedy as I assume the dinner from the trailer will be next.

Episode 3 was a lot of fun. I laughed out loud at the pym particle gag :D

Nice to see even bad guys given a backstory. I'm guessing her uncle is Kingpin (was the garage called Fatman Autos or something?)

That was definitely the kind of fun action I want from a Hawkeye show and the MCU in general.

    Another terrific episode.

I greatly appreciated how the episode opened up with a heavy focus on Maya/Echo and quickly established her motivations. Loved seeing Zahn McClarnon pop up as her father but it's a shame he was quickly killed off. I didn't know that Maya also had prosthetic foot. Is that something from the comics or is it something new for the show (either because of the actress or some other reason)?

I don't think anyone is going to be surprised when it's revealed that her uncle is Jack (that chuckle is unmistakable...besides, who else is it going to be?). EDIT: Upon reading the rest of today's posts, I see that there are other thoughts on the matter. I would love it to be Vincent D'Onofrio but I would be very surprised if it was actually him.

The whole chase sequence with the assorted trick arrows was a lot of fun...although some of the CGI was a little rough, especially early on. Still, it was great to see some of the more...oddball arrows in Clint's arsenal.

But the best scene was that heartbreaking conversation Clint had with Nathaniel when Clint didn't have his hearing aid. Not just because of his incapacitated hearing, but also because even Nathaniel is seeing the reality of the situation about his dad probably not making it home for Christmas. :wah:

I'm not sure that Jack is going to wind up being a villain in the end. His arc in the comics was that he started off as a villain, but then he came around to the heroes side and even died as an Avenger.

Echo does not have a prosthetic in the comics. I'm assuming since Echo in the comics is Native American and deaf that they were auditioning from a rather small pool and when they found someone they liked decided to make it part of the character. It actually adds yet another layer to the character and way to be underestimated.

The pym particle arrow to enlarge the other arrow was just sheer looney tunes awesome btw.

I like to imagine it’s to troll the right wing sites and channels. I’ve become a bit hooked on them and It’s hilarious seeing them try to suss out whether the show is actually woke or not to see if they should boycott it.

Seems to be based in the fact the actress had a prosthetic foot.

Thanks for the insights, guys. It's very cool of the show to incorporate the actress' prosthetic leg into the character. They didn't have to do that. Plus, as FreezC77 noted, it adds another layer to the character and how people underestimate her, which is something I always greatly appreciate.

Fun episode. Loved all the trick arrows during the action sequence and it reminded me of early seasons of Arrow.

I've been thinking she'll be a last minute appearance to set up the next season. There's not really enough of this season left to use her as a meaningful plotline.
I'd love it too. And why the hell not if he's available? Other than it makes the Daredevil series officially MCU canon, which I would love but may not fit in with their plans.
Damned right! The entire chase scene was nearly perfect.
He's definitely got a charming, comical persona, perfect for a grey character who is not an actual villain. I think he is probably a crook, but not a malevolent one.
That was heartbreaking. All the scenes around his hearing were well done, either funny, revealing, or touching. I loved it when Kate was speaking and Clint would say the same thing a moment after, not having heard her. Brilliant comic timing, and revealing how alike they actually are.

I'd love it if this became an ongoing "Batman and Robin" kind of series. I'd never get tired of those two.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Trick Arrows. Of course the tone was different, as these are vastly different shows in that respect.

Are you sure there is a next season? So far the only of the shows that is a proper tv show is Loki. The rest have been miniseries
